  1. I fished alot more than that for not much action and didn't land most of what bit....but a couple topwater fish made it worth it....I can't get enough of those explosions in 2-3 fow
  2. Love my glp stuff..glad I listened to you greg! Gonna make somebody happy!
  3. Males were still making a mess on my boat as of Sunday. I think the season needs a little adjustment....seems like all too often the spawn isn't over by the opener.
  4. The extendable cutco is a helluva knife for sure.
  5. No they all get used regularly...lol! I don't really use steak knives or kitchen knives. I prefer a boning or small filet knives to eat dinner. The big no slip handles on the bubba blades are a bit much for the dinner table though! I do filet a ton of fish, though every once in a while a customer takes the fish home whole to show their kids.
  6. I have a couple filet knives from JA Henkels, victorinox, a Gerber, a couple different bubba blades, and my buddy Wayne in the campground has a cutco I've used. All are great, but the handle on the bubba blades are second to none. And yeah I have a problem....
  7. Minn Kota just sent me a new I pilot link remote and charger because I complained about my charger cord, and battery... maybe this gives you an idea...
  8. We have helix units on our boats and love them all. Never had an issue. After having 12's I'd say size matters!!!
  9. I have never heard of an issue with aluminum pontoons. I have mine cleaned professionally at the marina I'm in and they look brand new after 13 years of being slipped I tried doing it myself at a car wash my first year and wasnt happy with my results as I couldn't lift the boat. The aluminum can definitely take being on a slip. As far as a painted aluminum hull goes....that I've got no idea how well that can take it with out stains.
  10. Ditto! Almost all heavy, thick walleye have fat like that. Here on Otisco any keeper will be 3 pounds+ with most nearly 5lbs minimum and look just like that.
  11. Happens all the time...my advice is to be prepared to reel up....and have braid handy. After the boat passes cast behind the boat and get you some new lures. That's what the shore guys do here on Otisco.
  12. Looking good Ed, you are ahead of me, but I hope to be in the water today!
  13. Awesome Les! Best show on TV and nothing I'd love more than to learn more about it!
  14. You Have to adjust the weight on the walleye boards to get the best results, but with the upgrade kits you can run both hard pulling stuff and easy pulling sticks.
  15. Any of those would be great for a handful of lures. Special mate boxes hold 120 and come in 5" 8" and 13" for musky lures.
  16. I don't like the bent arms for me but have the tournament upgrade kit on all ten of my walleye boards and I run all 10 sometimes. I send them so far out that you can't see them in some cases. I haven't pulled more than a 150 copper but hard pulling cranks with a couple clip weights or Jets with weights are routine. I run big boards some too but the inlines out perform them for walleye hands down. If you struggle at all trolling your doing something or several things wrong. Take a charter and explain what you want to learn and it's really not that difficult.
  17. Special mate boxes are the answer! Hanging stick baits keeps your hooks from rusting and keeps them from getting tangled. The problem with most boxes is moisture. The bonnets will keep them from tangling but dont help with moisture, in fact they trap it and they arent very efficient. I'm sure I would lose my patience with them in rough weather if I was changing my spread. I have 6 special mate boxes of various sizes storing about 500 lures rust free and I have no complaint.
  18. Ditto! The answer is not to get the boards to fall back.... having them as close to 90 as possible is ideal!! The factory settings are junk imo...Yankee troller had a post a few years back and his numbers work great for me! I run custom double keels and they pull hard which is what you want.
  19. The DEC said Otisco had ZERO reproduction too according to their sampling!
  20. Turkey numbers seem down a bit here in the southern tier as well. The population seems like it is very cyclical to me.
  21. Nice work guys! Usually I'm jealous reading reports when I'm not fishing yet, but it had to have been brutal in this wind and cold. 2 more weeks for me till I'm in...I'm way behind, but gonna start uncovering this weekend.
