  1. Id recommend a unit that allows you to make your own map. You will find features that arent on any map, especially on the st lawrence. Justin Okrepki NYSDEC licensed guide #7324 http://www.otiscolakeguideservice.com/ (607)-349-1750
  2. It isnt anyone's place to say what another angler should do with their legally caught fish, but it takes over 10+ years for tigers to get thick and mature and with the size if the lake many of us would love to see less kept and more big fish. That being said you cant release em all even if you want to...40 inches isnt really a very big tiger, but for some people its the biggest fish they have ever seen. Tman, like myself, thinks of the tigers as a sportfish better suited to c&r when possible.... Justin Okrepki NYSDEC licensed guide #7324 http://www.otiscolakeguideservice.com/ (607)-349-1750
  3. As rightly happy as everyone is with the buckhorn imagine a muzzleloader using smokeless powder...clean it once a year in minutes, better ballistics, more consistancy, and you dont have to wait for the smoke to clear to see what happened...savage smokeless muzzleloader 😎 Justin Okrepki NYSDEC licensed guide #7324 http://www.otiscolakeguideservice.com/ (607)-349-1750
  4. Love this feature on my helix. Anyone on a smaller body of water that needs an accurate map is gonna want this...sounds much better than the system they have now. Justin Okrepki NYSDEC licensed guide #7324 http://www.otiscolakeguideservice.com/ (607)-349-1750
  5. Once you have/try a smokeless powder muzzleloader you will never look at another muzzleloader... Justin Okrepki NYSDEC licensed guide #7324 http://www.otiscolakeguideservice.com/ (607)-349-1750
  6. A chronograph and a ballistic calculator works very well to get your trajectory as well Justin Okrepki NYSDEC licensed guide #7324 http://www.otiscolakeguideservice.com/ (607)-349-1750
  7. PSE has a crank as well just very pricey, and pretty much sets the bar for high end crossbows. They require a rest more so than others, also heavy, and long! Justin Okrepki NYSDEC licensed guide #7324 http://www.otiscolakeguideservice.com/ (607)-349-1750
  8. I love standing corn with snow and colder weather, but new seeding clover is great too! Justin Okrepki NYSDEC licensed guide #7324 http://www.otiscolakeguideservice.com/ (607)-349-1750
  9. Mine is floated...the deresonator doesn't do much for accuracy, but it sure helps out when you wanna lean your gun on something and not have it slide. Justin Okrepki NYSDEC licensed guide #7324 http://www.otiscolakeguideservice.com/ (607)-349-1750
  10. Most states are 30 minutes before to 30 after... I never really watched a watch hunting just used my own judgement, but I do now! Great deer and way to put your time in! Against my better judgement Ill post a pic of mine from opening week...it certainly isn't mature, but nothing I'm gonna pass!!! 11. Winchester model 70 stealth II 25 wssm with Bushnell 6500 tactical elite 4.5-30X50...688 yards on a doe is my longest on game. Group was shot with the Berger vld hunting bullet at 100yds. Justin Okrepki NYSDEC licensed guide #7324 http://www.otiscolakeguideservice.com/ (607)-349-1750
  12. I spend an extreme amount of time in a shore fishing spot where there happens to be tigers, but I see it with panfish, bass, and bulhead...i think you would shocked on those percentages among shore anglers. I also get to see just how many released fish show as floaters on Mondays/Tuesdays especially early in the year when fish are apt to be closer to shore. We all get easily frustrated over certain things and this is one of those things for me and I'm sorry if I offended you. 😀 Justin Okrepki NYSDEC licensed guide #7324 http://www.otiscolakeguideservice.com/ (607)-349-1750
  13. And yes i do my part turning them in.... Justin Okrepki NYSDEC licensed guide #7324 http://www.otiscolakeguideservice.com/ (607)-349-1750
  14. Im cynical from watching anglers toss big baits out and sit and get drunk around a fire at the campground not attending their lines. I hate having to ask them to either reel up or actually fish. I dont care what anyone does with their legal catch, but techniques that guarantee floaters are tough to watch. I have seen locals, plural, who put out large live bait off bobbbers from their docks and watch from inside their house which in a couple cases is across the road. Done right bait fishing is a fine way to fish.... Justin Okrepki NYSDEC licensed guide #7324 http://www.otiscolakeguideservice.com/ (607)-349-1750
  15. I wish big suckers were hard to buy.... Justin Okrepki NYSDEC licensed guide #7324 http://www.otiscolakeguideservice.com/ (607)-349-1750

Sold / Closed Used boat hard top

What are the dimensions of the top, and how tall is the framework. Justin Okrepki NYSDEC licensed guide #7324 http://www.otiscolakeguideservice.com/ (607)-349-1750
  17. I'm gonna try the 360 imaging this year...if I could afford it i'd like to try the Garmin panoptix. I've heard it's unreal for jigging eyes. So much cool stuff, and it all catches fishermen for sure! Lol! Good luck with your purchase... Justin Okrepki NYSDEC licensed guide #7324 http://www.otiscolakeguideservice.com/ (607)-349-1750
  18. I picked the Helix to avoid the cost of a touch screen and I was upgrading from a 7 in to 9 and 12. The elite ti is a very nice little unit. To get those features from Humminbird you have to buy a bigger unit. Just a question of what you want for your needs not what's better. Justin Okrepki NYSDEC licensed guide #7324 http://www.otiscolakeguideservice.com/ (607)-349-1750
  19. The Helix has the chirp as well depending on the model you select. The I pilot link to the trolling motor works well also if you have minn kota. Justin Okrepki NYSDEC licensed guide #7324 http://www.otiscolakeguideservice.com/ (607)-349-1750
  20. Check out the Humminbird Helix and the auto chart feature. If you fish structure at all the auto chart is the play Justin Okrepki NYSDEC licensed guide #7324 http://www.otiscolakeguideservice.com/ (607)-349-1750
  21. DJ, I love the 22-250, but I suspect you will struggle to get one that shoots both light and heavy rounds well. If you post your question on a long range shooting forum you will find someone who has it figured out. That's how I found a Berger VLD loading for my 25's. A guy had the exact rifles I have and he had done countless loads perfecting an amazing load that is sub .25 moa!!! I fish to much anymore to figure something like that out on my own. I have the bolt action Smokeless muzzloader and it has the accutrigger, but I've set up several model 11s. Of all the out of box affordable rifles I've shot I like the Savage's. Justin Okrepki NYSDEC licensed guide #7324 www.otiscolakeguideservice.com (607)-349-1750
  22. Herb's should have both! Pap is right though...the little shops often carry more in reloading supplies and powders especially. Justin Okrepki NYSDEC licensed guide #7324 www.otiscolakeguideservice.com (607)-349-1750
  23. The best overall caliber for what you describe is probably 243. Lots of loadings, relatively inexpensive to buy, and is ideal for any game from woodchuck to deer. I have a Ruger m77 markII in 243 and its light and shoots bullets from 55 to 100 grains well. It isn't a long range gun but 200 - 300 yds depending on size of game is no problem. Mine isn't for sale but I'm sure there is a bunch out there. You aren't gonna find a light super accurate gun on a budget. Savage makes lots of accutrigger models and they are closest thing to having a gunsmith adjust AND polish them which is what I do except the 1 Savage I have. 24. I live on the Susquehanna, but also fish the chenango, tioughnioga, and otselic. I ended up helping a buddy with a big doe, but the buddy I was gonna hit the river with got a 20". Justin Okrepki NYSDEC licensed guide #7324 www.otiscolakeguideservice.com (607)-349-1750
