  1. Nice work I'd love to read a lot more posts just like it! Great fish on top of it all!
  2. These guys were pretty much all business when working fish...the fun and laughs were out in full force but not with fish on...lose a fish with this bunch and you don't get to forget it! Slow to a rod you hear about it....fun hardcore men's fishing...today its young Maddux with his dad...you may remember his earlier trips. These eyes are tough for him with the inlines and weeds are tougher, but we have an 8-9 lb in the box but lost 2 just like it...can't be banner every day.
  3. Nice work...looks like you made their day! I've been extremely lucky getting my trips in with the weather. Hopefully we get less of these thunderstorms!
  4. Captain Jason Colby is a very well respected and is excellent. Also Deaf fisherman on this site fished commercially in that area and I'll bet he knows many excellent captains.
  5. After a hairy ride in last night during the worst weather I've ever been in I was hoping for less excitement this morning....seeing this monster (by otisco standards) rise up behind my boat provided some excitement and then some! I don't think I took a breathe until I slipped the net under! Had a great group and they got an amazing otisco eye. Fish weighed 11 on my BOGO and measured just over 29 inches. The guys ended up with 13 eyes in 2 mornings with 4 fish 7lbs or better. They pretty much forgot getting skunked Friday night 😀
  6. Nice work bud! I was in the worst weather of my life last night coming in....waves during 60 mph winds sunk an aluminum bass boat tied at the end of the launch instantly...I went into my slip HOT and got lucky I didn't end up with a scratch. 3 awnings were ripped off RVs 1 ended in the trees...made my deck just in time to grab mine and hung from it till the weather eased. So small water choice is smart
  7. We picked up this one right before the storm last night. Not as big as Friday's fish but nice for sure. Best part was the very short setback providing a nice fight and easy release.
  8. Haven't heard of any big tigers casting in a while...or trolling really...ive had just one this week over 40....and that was yesterday... Sent from my XT1080 using Lake Ontario United mobile app
  9. I was down that way just didn't know you were there...I'll stop by tomorrow
  10. Otisco humbled me again this evening...had 14 or so trips with a couple eyes at least and tonight I had 1 swing and miss and never came tight once....back at at 4....it's definitely fishing not catching...at least I have these guys 2 more days!!!
  11. Nearly got run over myself and watched an old tracker get run over...love the oblivious pleasure boaters...
  12. 7 walleye 2 tigers (excellent releases) 2 browns and 2 bass...double slam...good early morning!
  13. Trolling is the play for now....water is over 80 I'd strongly urge anyone targeting tigers to work fast, keep the fish in the water, and be quick the pics. Now probably isn't the time to learn to deal with and handle big tigers.
  14. Troll first....forget the bass lol...or take trip and
  15. 5-7 this morning....target 20-25 feet down 2.2 GPS off inlines
  16. Too funny old man! In your favorite color too? That's what we call the neighbors 2 little dogs...musky baits.
  17. I was under the impression from Paul's post that salmon size isn't down and didn't realize catch rates were way up suggesting fish are hungry...I'm basing my opinion solely on what I read from experienced captains which I feel can be trusted more than what the DEC says...and any cuts to king salmon stocking seems not in our best interest.
  18. By no means am I saying the spinner bait doesn't catch...I just know Tman has some interest in tournaments and plastics rule for big largies...and keep in mind co-angling in tournaments you fish behind a very good fisherman... aggressive easy to catch fish won't be there for your cast. You aren't allowed to cast past the middle of the boat so it's not like normal bass fishing. Not to mention 100 boats will be prefishing for days leading up to the tournament and fishing is seldom easy.
  19. The adjusting of stocking numbers to balance the predator prey relationship is an ideal approach...but the state has no idea how much bait there really is so it's junk science imo. I personally do not trust a word I hear from the DEC...they sell us BS at every opportunity just to shut us up
