  1. Doesnt matter what group of sportsman or people in general you cross section there is a lot of people that refuse to follow the laws and plenty more that are just bad people that ruin it for someone else. Just like the slobs that killed the fish and stripped the eggs on 4 mile creek....we shouldn't even have to have a law to prevent that sort of thing...people are not all basically good
  2. GLP makes a "cap" that goes on top of your masts to mount lights on...easy to rotate and aim...i can spin mine forward and use them as extremely bright docking lights!
  3. Exactly....doesnt mean im not watching tho!
  4. The comments are absurd and the article is almost as poorly written. I dont even know where to start....welcome tiger stalker! I guide on the lake and much of what i hear is overstated....i have hundreds of days on the water in the last 5 years and i haven't seen any evidence of intentionally wasted fish....i see several released fish that dont make it...but there isnt any obvious intentional damage. We should be vigilant, but lets not get too upset from hearsay...the tigers are doing very well and big fish are getting common.
  5. I think ill stay inside and wait till may! Kudo's to the diehards out there...hope you all have a banner day and stay warm!
  6. The moldings on his website are done similarly to what ive seen, but raised art is carved.
  7. What ive seen isnt solid plaster
  8. The books can easily over 100...i almost bought this one to resell, but figured i dont need more to do!
  9. The only guy in my area doing this type of stuff uses brown and finish plaster over styrofoam and fiberglass mesh that is screwed on with plastic washers. This is done on exteriors too. They use red hot electric shaping tools to carve the rough design out of foam.
  10. I love taking people more than catching fish so it was an obvious fit. As far as making it profitable...thats not why i do it. Im self employed and Tracy and I are at the lake EVERY weekend or it wouldnt be possible. I love the challenge, teaching, taking kids, and meeting new people. I get a mix of fishing with customers, friends, family, tournaments, and solo...i wouldnt wanna give up any of it!
  11. Just when i thought my drywall skills were up to par....this guy comes along...show off! Seriously though its amazing! Thanks for sharing
  12. Tony at Great Lakes Planers was great to deal with for me! He had my captains pak and a little custom work in my hands sooner than promised and cheaper than quoted...that never happens anywhere else!
  13. I have several upgrades for this year...you'll have to skip the yak 1 night and do it the easy way...
  14. Fish usa is the best place Ive found and they are in stock or get 1 from me jeff.
  15. Blue prism bomber....hmm...isnt that lure reserved for fish that are edible...and bigger! Just kidding...nice work jeff! I keep a couple dozen on hand but they are increasingly difficult to buy...dont lose any of those precious sticks!
  16. The rubber bands work on fine braid that is too thin or hard pulling lures off boards. Segmented cores works well for warm water fishing where exact depth is important.
  17. I have 15 glt rods from downrigger med lt to planer to dipsey...they work just fine for the money. 3 tip sections have broken but thru no fault of the rod....
  18. I bought a several bsa scopes and they are junk. Can you look thru it and will it work...yes. Once i started buying better glass i couldnt stand to shoot them any more. As an example, out of 4 scopes, which i spent between 100 and 200 on each, on 2 of the scopes the turrets work backwards and the other 2 forwards...all are catseyes....basically if you are sighting them in to get the point of impact to move up you move "up" on the turret on 2 scopes and down on the other 2....same with elevation! Went thru a bunch of ammo figuring that out...they are junk
  19. We are waiting for sure. Tnx for the update though. Havent had ANY snow here.
  20. Nice work as always John...jealous is the word that comes to mind...☺ Its my busy season with work, but Ive been our from shore at night. Climbing around on icy rocks in the dark isnt as fun as i remember...im ready for may and my boat! Like Les ive had time to work on gear...might pull my motor off tonight...looks the toon is getting a 60hp and ill be able to go faster than the speed of smell!
  21. No way you can say from a pic even if you shot a few....or 100 or 200...checking its dna is the only way to know and id bet anything it isnt a pure anything...
  22. Back in the 80's and early 90's we used to see lots of coyotes that were much larger and were wolf crosses. One of the first houndsmen to run yotes in NY told stories of having trouble getting some of his pelts sealed every year as they looked so much like wolves. He has huge black one mounted that the DEC did testing on and it was mostly wolf. As far as color goes coyotes come in about every shade from white to black...
  23. I saw a pic of a st lawrence ice fishing musky the other day...isnt it illegal to haul em out for a pic in a closed season? It was on facebook...my son showed it to me. If it isnt it should be. I take it the pa season is open?
  24. Bin is full at gander mountain of these on clearance for anyone wanting more...they are priced similarly...i cleaned out the cnms from johnson city.
  25. Not for me to say anyways what someone does with their legal catch....but one can always hope for a safe release. I really wanna see a 50 come out of Otisco and it isnt gonna happen if we dont let them mature....40 is a beautiful fish and tons of fun.....but by no means full grown and they fill out tremendously between 40 and 45.
