  1. I remember you. Haven't talked to you in a while. Glad to have you! I know that little boat has seen quite a few otisco eyes land in her!!!
  2. Still have a 2 boats that would take someone without a boat.
  3. Great! Now I know the after party will be fun! Lol glad to have you both. Let me know if you guys need anything gear wise.
  4. Ivan, The rule change was last year. There are a couple guys I see regularly and they are all saying the same thing....fishing is good and more good fish. I haven't heard of any reliable really big (45+) fish yet, but i wouldn't be surprised if there have been some.
  5. I like the pink baker bait idea!
  6. Nice fish! It has been a phenomenal year so far for tigers. I think we are seeing the positive impact of raising the limit from 30 to 36 inches. Thanks for sharing!
  7. We all have to give each other a little courtesy as most waters are multiple use, but there's always a few people in every group from fishermen to skiers that just dont get it! I had a couple buddies out for walleye one night recently and a carp fishing boat comes along the shoreline with enough spotlights that we needed welding masks not to be offended. After several minutes i light him up with my spotlight....he gets upset because he can't see!!! I said thats what i was trying to show you!! The guy ended up doing the right thing and shut his lights off, went around us and started back up going away. New York desperately needs a mandatory standard boater safety course that focuses on safe and courteous shared use of our waters.
  8. I use it to troll structure...I depend on it. If you are in open water it is of absolutely no use. I also use it to find slightly deeper troughs that lead up to shallows. Walleyes use the deeper water to come in to feed and I set up to ambush them. If you fish structure imaging is well worth it. Sent from my XT1080 using Lake Ontario United mobile app
  9. I try to accept that things like this will happen so that when they do i won't get so upset. Doesnt always work tho!
  10. Best fighting fish there is, but still a let down when you figure out its a carp! I've caught 2 trolling...both were down about 30'...1 was snagged off a rigger with spin tackle the other swallowed a tdd11 off boards.
  11. I agree 100%!!!
  12. Way to go!
  13. Nice job and good report!
  14. Answered my question while i was typing. Check miss em's posts from Oneida. He does well trolling stingers off riggers and deep divers off boards together. Captain Jeff gives all the details in his post to get you started. I also use a very similar spread there but havent fished it as recently as he and others.
  15. Harnesses work very well trolled on any of the above mentioned methods, but often times off target catch rates are so high they are tough too fish imo. Great tool but deep divers and spoons will let you cover more water while you are learning. Keep in mind I'm trolling suspended fish and depth control and covering water are the keys. My recommendation is figure how like to fish for them most and then master that. Tough to be really effective with multiple techniques unless you fish an insane amount....at least getting started. Maybe on Oneida....Where are you fishing? Some lakes give you a lot more options...
  16. We definitely have room on a couple boats if anyone is interested. Fishing is picking up a bit... Also could use a couple more boats too!
  17. Very nice Kevin! My favorite way to get em trolling is of the riggers on spin tackle with short set backs. I always used divers, but miss em got me using stingers and i like that even better!
  18. Got a nice 35 incher on a eel yesterday, but i can't get the video to upload.... any ideas...
  19. The people that really shared with me are always welcome.... and I think they know that Sent from my XT1080 using Lake Ontario United mobile app
  20. It's definitely give and take...on the forum and with guests and even clients. I've learned from all the people I've fished with. If you aren't learning you won't stay on fish. The last 2 years are proof of that with the harsh winters we all have had to do things differently. BTW I did find em during daylight the very next day.....how did i do it? I used miss em's spoon program!!! I do it a little different as I'm not a fan of cheaters, but its his program. One of my favorite spots was a spot Johnny walleye showed me. I figured it out, but with help. Same with Tim and the fall bite. Working together we all got better. Not a tough concept... Sent from my XT1080 using Lake Ontario United mobile app
  21. I've only caught tigers in the Susquehanna and Otisco, but outta the couple hundred I've seen NONE even resemble in color to the ones FishinNY has posted. Sent from my XT1080 using Lake Ontario United mobile app
  22. If water temps aren't agreeable for decent fishing here after the walleye event I have a couple kids I'm gonna take up there and tire em out on fish. Yesterday was encouraging here...time will tell! Stay after em and enjoy!!! Sent from my XT1080 using Lake Ontario United mobile app
  23. Thanks John I'd say the same about you! Walleye event is on for as many as show...I'll have food enough and plenty of beer I just ask you sign up or pm me. Anyone without a boat or partners let me know I'll do my best to get you on a boat. July 18th is the date. Sent from my XT1080 using Lake Ontario United mobile app
  24. Looks like your getting a good start on a freezer full! Should stay pretty good there the rest of summer...what's the water temp? Sent from my XT1080 using Lake Ontario United mobile app
