  1. There are some crappie in and biting on the north end. Don't have much more info, but the north end isn't that big.
  2. I had very little time to fish this weekend with getting settled in to camp and a few minor repairs, but today i managed a couple hours out with my son. Water temps are above 50 everywhere and the pond is 60. Clarity improved all weekend and weeds are just starting. I lost 1 nice tiger on a shadow rap and saw 1, though could have been the same fish. I personally didn't hear of a single tiger landed or hooked. Almost all anglers that were out this weekend struggled to catch any species.
  3. Nice work and great report.
  4. I didn't make it out last night as we didn't get to the lake till 10pm. Just went out for a shakedown. Main lake is 48 and I'm optimistic for tonight. Probably head out in 2 hours.
  5. I assume you were casting from shore for perch. If you are in a boat Id say move 10 feet closer. Sent from my XT1080 using Lake Ontario United mobile app
  6. Another thought...going below 4 lb dia line isn't necessary and nothing is gained by doing so. No diving depth is gained below 4 lb and not much casting difference. Sent from my XT1080 using Lake Ontario United mobile app
  7. Thanks for sharing Hermit. Two years ago on a similar spring trip most fish I caught had lampreys...sounds like the situation is improving. Hope your health continues to improve. I told you last fall I thought you were looking better. I'll be in touch...I'll have room for you soon as I get on em. Sent from my XT1080 using Lake Ontario United mobile app

  13. Ive used all 3 major super smooth braids, nano, smack down, and super slick extensively. All are more expensive, prone to tangling, and don't wear well. I have since returned to regular power pro. No matter what braid you use a leader is a must...you will flat out catch more fish. I would have kept using the smack down from seagaur, but my guests couldn't stop tangling it. As for knots with braid, the Palomar is my goto for terminal tackle, and a double Albright or slim beauty works well to tie light braid to heavier diameter flouro leader. 14. Nice! We are headed back up to work one last day staining our decks....2 coats brushed by hand! My before I go fishing list will be done today! Sent from my XT1080 using Lake Ontario United mobile app
  15. I also want to see 50! Hard to get to 50 though when we haven't seen daytime highs above 50 in a week. There is still a little snow on the ridges. Sent from my XT1080 using Lake Ontario United mobile app
  16. We were up working on our place today and I thought I'd give a report. Water temp on pond side is up to 48, main lake is 42 still, north end and shallows of main lake 44-45. Water clarity is the best I've ever seen, and even on the pond side you can see down over 2 feet easy. The ONLY fish up shallow were carp. 1 week to go!! 22. Current water temp is 44...launch is open with 1 dock in. Talked to Shane today and he said we can use the pavilion free of charge as long as it remains unbooked for private parties. We got our place open today. Sent from my XT1080 using Lake Ontario United mobile app
