I avoid the 3 ways because I like to be able to reel the swivel past the eyes in order to store rods. Sent from my XT1080 using Lake Ontario United mobile app -

minn kota i pilot for auto pilot
justtracytrolling replied to salmonite's topic in Questions About Trout & Salmon Trolling?
Ive been using my main motor for thrust and my terrova 80 lb for steering on my 21 foot pontoon for 3 seasons when im solo and have been very happy with it, but I wish I had the 112. Running both motors really helps my boat track better as pontoons are like sails in the wind. The auto pilot function cant handle my boat unless its flat. The 60 inch shaft is just long enough for my toon in rougher conditions so be sure not to short yourself as mentioned above. -

Trout and salmon diary program. Questions.
justtracytrolling replied to dawsonscreek's topic in Finger Lakes Discussion
If you call the DEC region office for your region they will answer your questions and send you your books along with instructions. The angler diaries are a lot of work if you fish alot, but it's one of the few ways to help the DEC manage our fisheries, and I think keeping a log has helped my fishing alot. I keep track of a lot more detail than they ask for then transfer the info they are after into the books. -

Shakedown on Seneca with my son's new boat

I was thinking the same thing! I love trolling but its a ton of work in the finger lakes with the weeds! If I dont have people to take out I will definitely get out on it alot...Cody can fish for bass and Ill fish for Tigers! Im gonna have to get a laker jigging lesson from Hermit because I think that would be fun with a bass boat. My toon is a bit of a pain to trailer and we end up staying on Otisco, but his boat is a piece of cake to trailer, launch, etc. -
One of the guys in my lease just picked up a Barrett 50 bmg and has a Sako in 338. He lives in Tennessee, but comes up to visit at least once during the summer. It would be a ball to get together and do some serious shooting. I have room to shoot the Barrett about a mile!

Exactly! Deploy slowly and you wont have any trouble until you net. It can be a bit of a mess in the net though. The only time I use it is when its slow. -
Sean, Our lease in Owego has 1000+ yard shooting. Id be happy to meet up with you and shoot this summer. I usually only shoot to about 800 as Im using a 25wssm which is a bit light to shoot beyond that unless its very calm. My favorite is to use 12-24 inch balloons scattered around at different ranges. I havent shot much last couple years because we are up at the lake, but I was planning on making some time during the week this year.

Captain Larry, Awesome stuff!! Everyone sees these fish caught on TV, but they dont tell you what goes on behind the scenes that makes it all possible. How many pounds of drag are you putting on those huge cats with the Penn 309m? What's the ballpark figure for one of these once in a lifetime trips? I know its out of my budget, but I can certainly dream about it! Thanks for the stories I appreciate you sharing them. -
Best fluorocarbon line/leader material ?
justtracytrolling replied to lineman49's topic in Tackle Description
The Seaguar Red Label is mainline not leader. The blue and yellow is invizx also not leader but an excellent supple mainline. I used blue label last couple years and this year Ill be trying the premier.
