st clair angler kills nice fish
justtracytrolling replied to ohiobones's topic in Musky, Tiger Musky & Pike (ESOX)
I know SEVERAL guys that fish various walleye lakes otisco included, and they kill every legal pike, musky, and tiger they catch. Some guys do eat them, but thats not why they do it....they just hate big predators that they blame for all they PERCIEVE to be wrong with they lake. What do you think happens to the tigers that are killed for the ice fishing derbies on otisco?....dumpsters! Its a shame that side of human nature ends up being the "FACE" of outdoor sports aside from the obvious disgust and contempt we all share. Sent from my LG-L38C using Lake Ontario United mobile app -

Cant get dark soon enough! Fingers are crossed the eyes move in and gorge themselves tonight! Kevin im trying my generation 2 super heavy bottom bouncer tonight...version 1 at 10 ounces was no where near heavy enough to work. Im trying a small downrigger ball on 80lb. Ill either snag it or follow the tight structure where there's always great marks i cant get at trolling. Im hoping its cloudy as last night was flat n bright. Ive heard horror stories about masts flying back towards the consol...must bout make you soil yourself!! My gear is all bolted with hardened bolts fastened thru welded supports so nothing is gonna come off...when i got my board hit last week it broke the tow rope instantly. I was happy that was the weak link and damn glad i have BIG fender washers on my otters so the board was fine. Not sure who on this forum told me to do that...maybe GILL-T...but thanks whoever it was! Sent from my LG-L38C using Lake Ontario United mobile app

Fished with buddy matt and meathunter last night from 9-3am and the eyes never really came in tight and fed. Smb were out in FULL force though along with the rock bass. Tried everything in tight and finished with 2 little 3+ pounders and 11 nice smallies and threw back at least half a dozen smb. Very disappointing as I didnt get the eyes but we still had tons of laughs. Snagged my rigger up TIGHT though i didnt figure out how as we were down 7 over 20! I was near a moored sailboat and i think they have something running out from shore. Ill be investigating that sometime and whatever it is has to go! After a bit of chaos we got untangled with out losing any gear whatsoever. BTW it was freaking COLD! Hopefully meathunter can post a couple pics. Tonight ill try again with Hermit Stan and Wayne i hope....i love him driving as he is the only guy i fish with that i can relax and fish without constantly watching where we are going in the dark. St Lawrence-Lake O: Full moon muskies.
justtracytrolling replied to EsoxAC3's topic in Musky, Tiger Musky & Pike (ESOX)
I agree 100% Kevin. Its not that i dont catch consistently all month with some days better than others. I just find that my VERY BEST fishing tends to be full moon or new moon. I should note I fish harder and all night during those times. Morning fishing is awful for me on full moons. In the salt water i dont go unless its a moon tide period! As i say this im just getting in now and wasnt epic like last night...meager 2 3 pounders, but TONS o smb. Sent from my LG-L38C using Lake Ontario United mobile app -
While I was in Minnesota's Boundary Waters Canoe Area fish esox and eyes we had a nice pile of fish and those little thieves would steal fish while we were filleting them....bold was an understatement. My buddy Matt actually punched 2 of them before they gave us any respect! Obvviously they were accomplished thieves.

Though the daylight walleye fishing has been way off all summer Ive been picking them steady at night with great full moon action. With that in mind Wayne, his son Travis, and I headed out last night thinking numbers. Other than a 90 minute lull we were constantly catching from 9 to 2 Catching just over 30 fish. We did 8 eyes from 3-7 pounds, plenty of smb, rock bass, and a big 6lb lmb. Purple and blue reef runners, flicker shads, and glass shad raps did the work down 28 at the start finishing at the weedline down 8.

pet muskie feeding video
justtracytrolling replied to Ivan's topic in Musky, Tiger Musky & Pike (ESOX)
Predators like an easy meal and when baitfish get in a frenzy id say that would trigger about any predator. The bait is so caught up feeding that t hey dont stand a chance. Thanks for sharing Ivan! -
Should have no trouble getting eyes on oneida if you troll. Miss em is spot on with the small rapalas.Check out the walleye section too. Otisco has been very tough all summer, but night action is solid in september. Otisco has bigger eyes, but tougher to catch. Otisco is also fishable in most winds as its small. Pm me if you want more info..

Nice work Ed! Walleye tacos here for dinner. Im heading out for foodsaver bags as its time to start filling the freezer for winter. -
They are all over for 2 weeks after stocking till they become more wary. I have about 6-8 goto tiger baits that produce well, I could easily just pick 1 too for throwing over weeds, but I troll, cast, and jig deep and shallow for them. Try a bx swimmer size eleven and crank the heck outta it....its been my hottest lure though I generally troll it holding the rod. Been meaning to get a few of those spoons you use as I know they work.

Water looked awesome Monday too, but we couldnt budge one on ANYTHING fly included. I figured it would pick up. Glad you got out and hooked up. The little guy had to be a tiny one from last year as they havent stocked yet and they stock em nearly that size.

And....here's what happens when you hurry....
justtracytrolling replied to Sk8man's topic in Open Lake Discussion
At least you got your gear back Les. Hopefully the launch wasnt a zoo:? I had a big board get hit monday by an idiot not watching where he was going and I had no where to go. At least the otter came out unscathed, and thankfully his prop spooled me...He will be working a while getting it out of his prop. Im out some tackle, but with any luck the 80 pound braid caused him enough grief to learn to watch where he is going. We really need MANDATORY boater education for everyone. I switched away from having tons of small boxes and went to a special mate vertical storage box. It holds 120 lures neatly in 1 box and all of my lures hang to dry. I just reorganized it yesterday putting in more of the lures that Ive been using and took out what wasnt working lately. I still have plenty of other boxes, but I fish outta 1. -

With your rig you can outrun the rain! I travel more like the speed of smell....not as big a deal on a 6 mile lake! -
Thanks guys. Im hoping to fish with my son tomorrow. Drop shot some smallies I found last week if they are still there. We have fished/camped together on his b'day for most of his life, but it keeps getting tougher as he gets older. Its been a while and he goes to Lake St Clair to fish in the BASS Open in a week and a half.
