  1. The kicker is intended for backup, but I've never had to use it as such. I used it for tolling only a couple of times when we were targeting lakers. Normally I use the main motor for trolling as the motor will run forever at 650 - 700 RPm. Speed depends on the wind and waves of course, but I have never had a problem keeping it in the 2.0 to 2.5 MPH range that I use. Have never used a drift bag.
  2. The Beam is 90 inches. There are two 15 gallon gas tanks , one on each side.

    1986 Sylvan Offshore 22 w/3L I/O Mercruiser. Galvanized Tandem axle Cox Trlr w/ surge brakes, & good tires. Evinrude 15 HP kicker.   12. Steve, There are a few Kings around. We caught two on Saturday - one @ 16 lb and one junior. Heard a few boats on 68 they had some action. We fished Mexico Bay in front of the Salmon River. Both Kings were in 125 to 140 FOW. The bad news - Paid $ 5.00/ gal for gas at marina. Best of luck. Jack
  13. I run a 2 yr old spx-5r model on a cable steered boat and have had issues with the stiffness of the wheel when it is in "standby" mode after the unit has run for a couple of hours. While the wheel is always stiff with the AP installed, it becomes a real chore after the unit has been running for a couple of hours. Had the steering checked and, with the AP unit removed you can steer with a couple of fingers. I was told it was probably installed "too tight". Well there is only the unit and the stub shaft to tighten and these were done with a torque wrench. has anyone else had this problem ? if so, how was it corrected ?
