  1. Fished the NYS Pro Am Ice Tourney today and located some Lake O Gold for the weigh in! -19deg start at 5am... But turned out to be a great day on the ice! 3-fish bag weighed 21.2lbs. Largest was 8.5lbs. Got kicked out of the money by a few perch. Can't believe it came down to that but 4th place is respectable and it was a lot of fun. Two eyes over 13lbs were caught yesterday... 13.2 and 13.65lbs. Trophy fish!
  2. Thanks for the great event and for your time! -Team Bedford Creek
  3. Check this out!
  4. Looking forward to the event. The whole keeping fish alive all day thing is kinda silly but I'm sure people will do their best. Looking forward to an updated ice report. Safe for machines?
  5. That's awesome man congrats!! I'm next in 7 weeks.
  6. Nick - that would be pretty cool. It should be as simple as providing you with a Y-cable that splits out the Probe's data cable. Hopefully they don't have narrow impedance expectations on those lines at the display - otherwise the displays could act funky. Let me know if they're able to provide you with the right harnesses.
  7. LUND will be twice the price as a Tracker for similar boats. The Tracker Targa you mentioned will be around $25-$26K brand new. A similarly sized Lund will be $50K easy. Certainly LUND provides some nice-to-have features and has a bit more attention to details, but for me was not worth paying double. I went with a Tracker and have been really happy with it. Once you get closer to your purchase and you put some time and research in, you'll see what I'm talking about. Best of luck in the kicker search and mounting!! 9. I switched to the Torpedo 19 strand last year and loved it. It can fray (I found that fleas caused some of the fraying when trying to remove them) but it's visible and can be caught in advance and re-crimped. On other brands you'll lose you're hardware and the fish when an unnoticed kink finally gives. Sent from my SAMSUNG-SM-N910A using Lake Ontario United mobile app
  10. Haha whatever makes you feel better man. I did buy a tracker after moving here along with a Penn Yan and fish the crap out of em. Was not meant to insult or start a back and forth, but more informative as the thread was intended. Looking back that's my fault though - Whalers do not belong in the conversation with those other boat manufacturers; there really is no comparison. I'll PM you his #, feel free to give him a call and you'll be entertained for hours. Sent from my SAMSUNG-SM-N910A using Lake Ontario United mobile app
  11. Used to have a brand new 250 Outrage on Erie. Boat had a lot of plumbing and electrical routing problems that you would not expect on that caliber of boat. Nothing that the dealer or company would own up to and take care of. You don't have to like it... but talk to anyone big (like my best buddy from high school) in the high end boat business and you'll find its true. They don't carry Whaler for a reason. But they do work on a whole lot of em! Sent from my SAMSUNG-SM-N910A using Lake Ontario United mobile app

  13. Why would you use braid anyway??? haha I absolutely hate it and removed it from everything except backer for coppers after one too many lost fish in 2014. Can't get around it there for capacity issues. Even still a section of 50# mono is tied in for the board release on those set-ups. Braid is not friendly on any reel and swells and cuts into itself on the arbor ends. Braid = Perch fishing for me - that's it! Braid ruins release pads too - as you say it does cut into them. You would lose many many fish across the board on Lake Ontario fighting the board. From Walleye, Browns, Steelhead, to Salmon - you will easily lose 25-40% of your fish directly as a result of using an inline and fighting it to the boat. I have buddies out of my port that only use inlines and I can't stand fishing on their boats because of all the fish that are lost using inlines. Big boards are still the way to go and that's why so many of us use them, but in 3-4'+ waves the in-lines come back into play. Mono all the way... embrace the stretch!!!
  14. A track is a track right? I thought the same... Lay all of them out side by side and you'll clearly see that Cisco tracks are best. There are some 'attention to detail' features on their product that others lack. David at Cisco is a great guy to work with.
  15. This thread made me curious to inventory all my big lake stuff...31 set-ups. It'll be painful to add up this total investment in rod/reel set-ups, as I bought everything new. Plus don't want to leave any evidence around for the wife to see. haha This stuff should last a LONG time though... Planer Boards (Qty 8 - Target: Walleye) - Ugly Stik L 8' 3" Rods, Daiwa SG27LC3B Reels, 10lb Big Game, 10lb Seaguar Fluro Planer Boards/Downriggers (Qty 4 - Target: Walleye/Browns) - Ugly Stik L 8' 3" Rods, Abu Garcia Ambassadeur 6500LC Reels, 12lb Big Game, 12lb Seaguar Fluoro Downriggers (Qty 4 - Target: Walleye/Browns) - Ugly Stik L 7' Rods, Abu Garcia Ambassadeur 6500LC Reels, 12lb Big Game, 12lb Seaguar Fluoro Short Leadcores (3,4,5,6) (Qty 4 - Target: Browns/Steelhead) - Okuma Classic Pro GLT 7' 6" ML Rods, Daiwa Saltist High Speed 30/40 Reels, 20lb Big Game Backer, 18lb Leadcore, 12lb Seaguar Fluoro Long Leadcore (10) (Qty 1 - Target: Salmon/Steelhead) - Okuma Classic Pro GLT 7' 6" M Rod, Daiwa Seagate High Speed 50 Reel, 20lb Big Game Backer, 27lb Leadcore, 20lb Seaguar Fluoro Downrigger (Qty 4 - Target: Salmon/Steelhead) - Okuma Blue Diamond 8' 6" M Rod, Daiwa Saltist High Speed 30LC Reels, 20lb P-line CXX, 20lb Seaguar Fluoro Dipsey (Qty 2 - Target: Salmon/Steelhead) - Okuma Classic Pro GLT 9' M Rod, Daiwa Saltist High Speed 40LC Reels, Torpedo 19-strand wire Dipsey (Qty 2 - Target: Salmon/Steelhead) - Okuma Classic Pro GLT 10' 6" M Rod, Daiwa Saltist High Speed 40LC Reels, Torpedo 19-strand wire Copper (Qty 1 - Target: Salmon) - Okuma Classic Pro GLT 8' 6" Copper Rod, Daiwa Saltist High Speed 50LC Reel, 50# PP Backer, 45lb Blood Run Copper, 30lb Seaguar Fluoro Copper (Qty 1 - Target: Salmon) - Okuma Classic Pro GLT 8' 6" Copper Rod, Daiwa Seagate High Speed 60 Reel, 50# PP Backer, 45lb Blood Run Copper, 30lb Seaguar Fluoro
  16. I use offshore releases exclusively as I've found them to be the most reliable and repeatable and I like that they're smaller in size for storage. Yellow offshores for Walleye/Browns flatlining sticks/spoons and short cores (3,4,5,6). I use the Medium (Black) and Heavy (Orange) offshores for full cores and 300-500 copper.
  17. Yea I ran them twice (2 different ones) and both times ended up with the worst line twist I've ever seen. 3rd times a charm maybe? Will try one again on a slow day but if experience the same thing will sell them on the classifieds.
  18. Tried running those agitators twice this year on Lake O with spoons and both times completely ruined my line. Twisted beyond repair. These things spin FAST and the swivels that come with them apparently can't handle the RPM. Thoughts there Blue Knight? I have a half dozen of these and planned to throw them in the 'Do Not Use' pile of stuff that looks cool but doesn't work.
  19. Screw it I'll take all 4 of em. See ya Monday.
  20. I'll take 2. I work in Endicott can meet you Monday. Sent from my SAMSUNG-SM-N900A using Lake Ontario United mobile app
  21. Agreed. Sandusky area has an insane amount of boats. I grew up there fishing for Erie eyes and have been out here the last 10 days visiting my parents. Something like 3rd most boat registrations per county in the country last I checked. Lots of big dollar rigs though well beyond the average budget. Always amazes me when I come back here seeing so many great boats around. Never realized it until I left 6 years ago for NY. Sent from my SAMSUNG-SM-N900A using Lake Ontario United mobile app
  22. Despite the 'name hype', Whalers really aren't that great of a boat. Not anymore at least. Just like any other Brunswick built boat. Same as a bayliner... not saying much. Grady, Pursuit, Regal, Tiara, some of the last few privately owned boat makers that give a darn about their boats, their owners, and the dealer/service relationship that is conducive to not only address and fix problems, but do so on their own dime. My best buddy from high school manages all service and new boat readiness at the largest marina/dealer on Lake Erie - top 3 dealer for Yamaha, and top 5 dealer for Pursuit, Tiara, Grady, etc. He can tell you some horror stories about Whaler both in their products and their organization. Amazing that they can still get people to pay the absurd prices for their boats. Sent from my SAMSUNG-SM-N900A using Lake Ontario United mobile app
  23. I bought 2 new Mag10's in 2012 and they had the poorly designed pulley, although I only experienced the cable jump thing once. I bought 3 more new Mag10's in February for another boat and they had the newer pulley design that Eliminates this issue. Call Cannon and they'll send you the updated pulleys.
