  5. for sure. The first time I ever took my 221 Islander out to lake O to fish for the kings we had 3 straight days of near mirror conditions. was crazy. the second time however we had 4' waves that started out as a 2' chop. I could see them coming from the west!

    Oneida lake

any pointers on where to go for the walleyes on that lake? I have never been on Oneida and was thinking if Lake O was too rough I would hit Oneida
  7. I am planning on doing Americas Great loop when I retire. Capt Vinces analogy is spot on.
  8. I run one mono diver and one wire diver. The mono diver really doesnt go below 30-40 feet I would say, but Ireally dont know. I will be switching it over to wire soon.
  9. So you just run the peanuts direct behind cowbells? I have never run a peanut. Not tipped with snuthing? What color peanut chartreuse?
  10. you should do a 50/50% split to get your charters to enter, with the disclaimer that if they win you get more than your money back???
  11. how big of cowbells do you use? I have seen some giant ones then smaller. I have no experience with them but thinking the first weekend of August if I cant find the kings our browns will go for lakers. not really picky.
  12. what kind of bait do you put behind the spin n glows?
  13. I have a double axle trailer with hydraulic drum brakes. 1991. The former owners of the unit did nothing to them and they no longer work. No fluid in the master at all. I am looking into replacing the entire unit, coupler, lines and drums. Anyone out there done this before and on a scale of 1-10, 10 being expert, what would you rate the the job as being? I am relatively handy with tools and have plenty of them, but have never performed a brake job on any vehicle.
  14. thanks!
  15. This will be my only trip for the season unfortunatly. Anyone willing to help a poor dude out on conditions/where to go and what to use I would appreciate it. Been making two trips a season the past 2 summers and have only been able to land one king and one small steelhead...Not good. Send me a PM if you would rather. I have no down temp/speed.
  16. I have a bunch of them as well from my grandfather.
  17. Yeah this is the first summer I have. It has a new cover. I check it every day. But I will say I sm pulling it until I can figure out the autobioge issue.
  18. Good thoughts everyone much appreciated. Once I pull it out of the water to prep for a lake o trip I will try filling the bilge using a hose
  19. I will have to do some more investigative work I guess. The water comes up to the very bottom of my water/fuel seperator filter.
  20. getting funny now! haha. Well, it happens even when it doesnt rain and I dont have a wash down. Also, if Iwere to guess, it will take around 45 minutes to get to where it stops maybe slightly less, but we are not talking about allot of water here, like 5 gallons or so
  21. bellows were checked over by my mechanic last fall, all are good however did not remove them. My float switch has never triggered, dont even know if it works really.
  22. I have a 1991 Starcraft Islander 221. 4.3L V6. I have been getting water in the bilge since I bought the boat in 2012. I have had my marine mechanic look to see if something on the engine is leaking while running. He could not find anything. I have checked the hull over thouroughly and I do not see any cracks etc. Interestingly, I can leave the boat in the water for as long as I want and I only get about 3" of water in the bilge and that is it, it seems to just stop. Any ideas?
  23. wow u put on the miles every season that is for sure!
