  1. thanks guys but can someone point me to where I could launch and leave trailer and vehicle for 3 days?
  2. I would love to do this. can anyone tell me where It would be best to launch and maybe cruise for 2 full days and nights then return to the same launch? Any specific sights that would be destination stops/specific places to anchor etc? Would be my wife and me in our 221 Islander.
  3. Pd buoy you are spot on in you assessment, these aluminum a are affected by the wind for sure as they don't sit as deep in the water. But like you said, tow ability is great especially for us long drivers
  4. ditto....I love mine too. have wanted one for a dozen years....finally got her..
  5. I think you are right which I havent adjusted that one at all
  6. So last year I picked up an EZ steer steering system. I called EZ Steer directly and they gave me the apropriate numbers to order. I ahve a 91 221V Starcraft islander wit hthe Mercruiser V6 and a mercury 9.9 Kicker. Everything attached fine. I followed the directions putting it altogether. But I still have issues. I have tightened the set screw and turned the lower unit etc both ways as the manual indicates. this is supposed to self adjust the unit. However, when I am using the kicker trolling and using the main engine to steer and in a turn sometimes the ez steer unit will pull out therefore changing the steering entirely. never seems to really work jsut right. Any tips or is it simply turn the setscrew making it tighter till it stops the issue altogether? I think the reason for it being made to self adjust is when you raise your kicker up and out of the water etc right?

    Anchor Roller

thats a good idea. I am sure that the anchor roller will cover the existing light area for aesthetic purposes..thanks!
  8. yeah, I dont think it will fall through the cracks much
  9. Ok, I have posted on a few threads about installing an anchor roller on my 1991 Starcraft islander 221V. I need to find something. It does not need to be power. I am looking into the West Marine Delta Anchor Rollers bow mount for a Danforth anchor. Here is the situiation: My islanders navigation bow lights are in the centerline where the anchor roller would go. I could mount off center but would need to be in a location that wouldnt interfere with the 180 degree view of the bow nav lights. I have a built in rhode holder in the bow of the islander so stowing anchor rhode would be fine. I dont know about the chain though, as it would be attached to the anchor and have to cross some of the bow deck before going into the rhode holder. I would not like that any ideas/ thoughts suggestions would be appreciated!
  10. good luck! I love my Islander. 2014 will be my second summer with her.
  11. I bought my 1991 221 islander in the fall of 2012. I paid $8k for it so that will give you a ballpark idea due to the year etc

  17. I can't believe the height of the bow rail off the deck!
  18. i haven't boated a laker yet, but would have loved to last summer when the fishin was a slow go. Will have to brush up on the tactics
  19. Hey Lew! Luckily I have the best of both worlds, when its sugarin time its too dang cold, icy and snowy to fish, when its fishin time the sap isnt runnin! haha
  20. Ok, so I will post another pic of my 91 221 Islander
  21. There is some coin in that picture!
  22. It might be an issue I agree. My point is, do not directly attack one individual directly. I would assume we are all adults here. There is also an issue of careless boat handling from someone who has no experience in navigating a boat too.
  23. dude, lighten up....WTF
  24. Man someone buy it already!
  25. Google cruising Americas great loop. There are a few very good website setup just for this. Of course the canal system is part of the great loop. I highly recommend it. I have wanted to do the same thing. My wife and I are even thinking about purchasing a trawler when we retire and cruising the entire loop for a year.
