  1. I purchased by DD rod and reed from Bretts Place on the Bay. I have a shimano DD rod and Okuma 30 class reel. Line counter a must. I am goign to back the wire with 30lb mono, probably 30 yards of it..then put on as much wire as it will hold. I purchased 1000; of wire. Twili tip same place and yeah, you need one unless you buy a rod with the roller guides
  2. I am going to run one mono and one wire
  3. I wish there were more pics of the problems
  4. What year is your Sea Nymph?
  5. I hope all you tourney fishermen start posting some video and pics!
  6. whats everyone typically run for leader length with a spin dr and fly compared to a dodger and a fly?
  7. Cant wait to see the post tourney video and pics..
  8. I have been thinking the same thing on my islander 221.. I have a 9.9 on it. It is backed up pretty good but I think that I am gonna strap it to the boat somehow with a ratchet strap or two
  9. good point on your comment on my comment about a rod limit. I didnt take into consideration the charters profiting due to chartering a group etc..Those charter captains and crew have to make $$ too!
  10. oh, didnt know that it was going on right now?
  11. Honestly, to satisfy the numbber of rods, just simply put a restriction on the maximum number of rods per boat no matter how many guys you have on it. Pretty simple.
  12. way the brown might I ask? I am assuming it spooks the fish less?
  13. I was given 2 Mag 10A downriggers. I know that one needs to have the cable replaced as their really isnt allot left on it. The other looks ok. What length should I get? would 200' be enough of should I get the 400'?
  14. I cant tell for sure but that looks to be a coho?
  15. well hell, they might as well subtract the cost of the cheap hook t othe spoon and not even supply one! haha..yeah right!
  16. with the gemeni..that suprises me.
  17. I guess using a dodger accomplishes two things. 1. provide action to a lure that does not produce its own action. 2. attracts fish into the setup. having said that, since your also running a dipsey that produces action, I guess your getting double action and an attractor..anyone run spoons befind the same setup?
  18. speaking of coho, I am not hearing many reports on any coho catches much?
  19. mudflat. I agree. trust me, I will not underestimate the conditions that is for sure and will be keeping a watchful eye and ear on the weather.
  20. Dont blame you. They are the next generation of fishermen that are going to hopefully take care of the fishery in the future. Gotta have them involved ANY WAY WE CAN!
  21. no...Why not? What I mean is....The spoon comes with a treble attached, but also included is a single if you wish to put that on...
  22. bobs_boy, your vessel must be able to take some pretty rough conditions I would imagine
  23. I am suprised that all spoons do not come with singles included in the package
  24. can anyone tell me where a good place to launch is in the 1000 Islands?
