  1. We have family friends who live on the Lake in Dexter. They even have a boathouse. At some point gonna trailer the Islander up for a weekend of fishing. I see Stony and Galloo on Google earth. is that area decent overall for fishing? How about out toward Main Duck Island?
  2. oh, so you dont go through Reserveamerica to get a site? Interesting. They are on there
  3. A friend gave me his older Canon Mag 10A riggers. Unfortunatly, I only have one base with them. Looking for a second base.
  4. How far offshore do you have to travel in say August to find the Kings from Mexico? My plans may be changing for Port location. Originally been looking into Fair haven but cant seem to connect with accomedations. Now looking at Selkirk shores and trailer to Mexico and fishing out of that port
  5. I think what he meant is the combined weight equals 16lbs
  6. there is that. I guess the next question is, we have a 24' RV and basically a 24" boat. is there enough room on these sites? I have never been there
  7. mrclean, where would I park my boat though that is the question. If they have docks that you can rent right at the Park that would be ideal.
  8. Question- Do you have to pay to use the launch there? Looks like on the map the main entrance to the park is seperate from the entrance to the launch? Just thinking here. Second question, are there any signs in the parking lot indicating that you cannot stay in your rv at the launch..thinking pulling the boat with the (small RV 24') launching with the RV of course pakring the RV While on Boat, then reloading the boat on RV and parking in parking lot staying in the RV overnight..Just curious.
  9. Post updates as to the fleas. I am hearing some reports that they are starting to show up!
  10. nybuck50 I am in the same boat! had my heart set on the Lowrance but dont know if that is the way I am going now. I have always had Humminbird and have never had an issue

  12. I would love to hear more on preferred make of flies as well as preferred colors
  13. Always wondered why some spoons come with single hooks and some with trebles? IS this just preference or what? Also, where can you get these Mauler spoons??
  14. I was just given a pair of these downriggers. Do not have a book with them. Wondering what lb ball I can use? I have one 12lb ball and that is all at the moment
  15. why such a short amt of time? Ends at 1pm?
  16. Nobody answered my bleeding question. Do you just slit the gills to bleed the fish if you are gonna keep it?
  17. I a mthinking baby blue for his and her rods...
  18. That is scary right there.
  19. HAHA..yeah..I figured with the size and style of that rig that that was the "floating camp" as well. My home lake, the Great Sacandaga, the marinas are full of larger boats from folks that basically rent a slip, dock their boat and live on it for the weekends or weeks. Pretty neat. They have quite the pad when they get their faux grass carpets layed out on the dock, potted plants etc. Hey, dont have to pay property taxes or the upkeep of a property! My kind of livin!
  20. Always liked those particular regal boats. nice lines
  21. bobs_boy, so do you stay on the boat while you are up at Lake O?
  22. Mortigan, that sounds great. I love chowder and hell I am a native Adirondacker...The Great lakes trolling book that I have read 3x now says that early season spring Coho is the best eating fish..?
  23. My statement was that I dont hear about anyone commenting on eating the Kings and whether or not they are good. I didnt mean that they arent good. Like I said, I have never had one out of Lake O so I have no opinion yet
  24. I put 90% of the fish back in the lake. THe only time that I actually keep a fish is if I am gonna eat it that same day,. Truthfully I have never had a fish out of Lake O. I also never hear of anyone on this board say that "man the King I kept last night was awesome table fare"...??
