  1. Tough day. 2 of us. 11-5. Washed an assortment of lures up and down the water column from 60ft out to 230ft. 1 bite and 1 fish 100 down over 220. Carbon Mag with an orange ladder on the top. 12lb king that made to the grill at 6pm. Lots of small bait balls around 100 and again around 125. Marked plenty of fish in those areas, just didn't get em to bite. Stayed out where we got the king and no marks and no bites. Ran meat, cow bells, spoons, flies and plugs. Nothing. Maybe we should have went out to 400+ for some hungry fish. In any case, it was a suprisingly great day. When the lake is almost glass calm and the air temp is 75ish... awesome. Very relaxing. One fish was good enough for today. The skunk stayed in his hole. Oh yeah, we stopped in 60ft of water to try jigging for some of the marks we couldn't catch. Caught a perch on the bottom. Lure was about as big as the perch. Landed her with the minnow net.

  2. I appreciate the info you guys provide. I've learned a great deal by reading the LOU. Hope this helps. Lines in the water 6:30 to 8:30pm. Hot bite! 8 for 12. All kings. Mostly 12-16 lbs with one 20lbr and one dink. The only true screamer broke the line before we could get our hands on it. Only had 4 rods out, all with divers. 2 out 175 to 200 on a 1 setting. 2 out 215 to 250 on 3. West of Sodus between 130 and 150 ft of water. Screen was often full of bait and the marks were mostly between 60 and 100. Went inside 120 and outside 160 and didn't mark anything. New spoon took 3 fish. Original Orange Carbon Mag (Moonshine Lure). The rest were on meat rigs behind flashers. I've been using a new meat rig setup that has been awesome. My hook up rate on meat has doubled. Found this guy on Ebay. "High Percentage Salmon Trolling". His meat rigs have a single hook up front (rig through the meat) and a trailing treble hook, both red, flash and rattle built in. Very cool setup. The trailing treble hook was responsible for 2 of the fish today. Both may have been missed on conventional meat rigs. 'Bite My Herring Strips' have worked, but 'Deep Rig Tackle Herring Strips - Glow Frog' has been the hottest thing in the boat. Only saw one other small boat on the water.
  3. The boat in the lot had an accurate report. Fished Sodus this past weekend. The shallow water was crystal clear and nothing was happening inside of 80' of water. Between 90 and 100 we got fish down 40 to 80. Tripled up on Kings at one point. Green spoons mostly. The crystal clear water is not usually a good sign for the shallow bite.
