  1. mikes marina has 2 cabins they rent.right on the little salmon river.i believe you get a dock space with cabin rental.we just stayed in one this past weekend.for more info.you can google mikes marina in mexico or give beth a call during the week, they are not there full time in the winter,so if she does not answer, leave a message.315-963-3119.
  2. best value for line counters is what you already have, the magdas are good reels, that hold up just fine.i have some that are 5 years old now and still work just fine,i think I have had 1 drag go bad, sent it to tuna toms and it was fixed for 10 bucks.i did what you are looking to do and bought a bunch of convectors, they are good reels also, but they didn't put any more fish in the boat,so stick with what you have and spend that money on something else, just my 2 cents.
  3. same here,i have a dozen on my boat,i have not had any problems.
  4. yesit is dan and no problems getting launched,we were able to use the bulkhead to get in and out of the 16 footer.
  5. nice day on the water today, sun came out and we were down to sweatshirts, but the fish didn't cooperate, went 0 for 2 over by catfish.it was really nice to be out on the water in the end of January, looking forward to spring.
  6. Hit the water at 9 and by noon still had not moved a rod.fished from Selkirk to Brennan beach from 10 to 70 fow.fog was starting to get thick,so we started to head back toward the little River, popped a small brown at Selkirk pier, then about 15 minutes later we tripled, got them all back in the water turned around went back through and popped another one.4 on sticks and 1 on a spoon.see what tomorrow brings.
  7. Mexico bay towed boat out to Mexico for the weekend, didn't get on the water till 2,had first fish on in 15 minutes, nice fat 5lb brown, then about a half hour later hook up another, but after a short battle,he got off.wind was blowing pretty good,so we packed it in.fished between little river and catfish 10 to 20 fow.be back out tomorrow, suppose to be light and variable.

  10. like the chief said as far as fishing goes, what happened last year means nothing for this year.as far as sandy pond goes,if your boat is less then 20 feet, you should be o.k.but the channel changes from day to day depending on west wind storms.its all sand,so you wont ding a prop, but you may have to get out of your boat to get it off a sand bar.
  11. hey dan, bring your boat up,we took a ride out to the lake today,we pull into mexico point and there sits a truck and trailer, the lake was dead flat,i was drooling myself.so we sat there for a bit and in comes the boat with 4 guys on it,was hoping to get a fishing report, but once they got the boat on the trailer, they started unloading guns instead of poles!!!!!
  12. elosta has their tackle show there, just checked the website,no date yet,but if its the same time as the last few years, its the middle of march.
  13. sounds good to me big dave, bring on spring!!!!!
  14. they already had to rescue someone off black lake,he was out on less then 2" of ice.
  15. hey rick,if not enough interest doing it on a Tuesday,is it possible to do it on a Saturday?this would possibly help bring in people who don't live in the area.
  16. you guys might want to give him a call, that post is from 4 months ago.
  17. I had a 25ft walkaround with a 9.9 Yamaha high thrust and it pushed the boat just fine up to around 3 footers.what ever size you go with,i would recommend a 4-stroke,smooth running, quiet, and no fumes or smoke.also, with a 4-stroke,you can put a control king on it to control your speed, way better then a control box and cables.
  18. i guess some people dont know how to read.
  19. i just checked his website and couldnt find any listed, but i know he did,i would contact him.www.atommiktrollingflies.com,if he isnt selling them anymore, you can try fat nancy's or all seasons sport shop, both in pulaski.

  21. there is a wellcraft coastal 280 on watertown craigslist.boat is turn key ready to fish.i talked to the guy brokering the boat this summer about buying it,but decided to find one newer.the boat is an 1986.
  22. we stay at the quality hotel and suites which is right across the street from the expo center.i think the motel caught on to the show now that its been there for a few years because i paid almost 50 bucks more this year then i did the last 2 years.still well worth it,walking distance from the expo and there is a nice bar and grill in the hotel,no driving!!!!the prices will only keep climbing as it gets closer,so if you are going, book now!
