  1. that is how many are on the reel.so what we do is we will let out 1 color 100 ft,so if you run a 30 ft leader and 1 color is 30 ft then you would have about 40 ft of backing out.then we send out the 2 color 100 ft.do the same thing on the other side.depending on how many rods we can run,we will also run a mono rod with a split shot or two.
  2. this past spring was our first time for browns,so im no expert, but will share what we did.we ran otter boats,so we had 2,1 color core and 2,2 color cores,so you have one for each side.we ran them on diawa 17 series line counters, but i think any 20 series reel would be fine, with 25 lb mono for backing and 30 ft of 12 lb mono for a leader.i will be dropping down to 12 lb backing for next year,as there wasnt enough backing with the 25 lb.i know some guys run as light as 8 lb,but i wasnt comfortable with going that light,as there are some kings and steelies in the mix.any light action rod will do,its best to have them all the same length,as it makes it easier to stack them in the trees.we ran spoons on one side and sticks on the other and also split the riggers one spoon and one stick.as the fish start to tell you what they want you can adjust your pattern accordingly.this was good for early spring when you will be fishing in less then 15 fow.once they start sliding out,you can go with 3,4,5 color cores or start running big jon mini discs to get down.have a good variety of spoon colors,as it seemed to change from day to day.
  3. we use 30 lb 7 strand blood run on okuma 30 series reels.1000 feet with no backing and a 25 lb mono leader with no problems other than trying to get the bass fisherman who we bring out not to set the hook!!!!!even after telling them 10 times not to.
  4. check with the town you are looking to buy land in.some towns do not allow camper trailers to be put on vacant land.i know mexico is one of the towns.

  6. 16 ft charter boat???????
  7. i had a 21 ft walkaround with a 8 hp 2-stroke and it pushed it just fine.4-strokes are nice though cause you can just tap into your on board tank.
  8. ive stayed in the cabins at mikes this past season, cant beat the price!!!!!
  9. hey tod, just like we talked about,,think some people just like to look at pics.
  10. the hell with the loc,you would have been able to buy a bigger boat if you sold the filets!!!!!!
  11. i lived in hopatcong for a while,i fish out of mexico and i am always willing to share info.as far as spoons, you should go back through the fishing reports from this past spring to get an idea, for us there wasnt one spoon that stuck out and this was my first year fishing browns,so i dont have years of experience to say,but we did well just about every day out.i can tell you that things change day to day,so what worked yesterday, didnt work today.try to have a good variety of colors.seemed like spoons would work in the morning and then sticks would take over in the afternoon and the next day it would be just the opposite.need to change things up quite a bit until you start hitting them and then you can start tuning your program.good luck and feel free to shoot me a pm anytime.
  12. welcome aboard, make sure you have some spoons in your arsenal for browns.
  13. rolmops is right.you should do some rewiring and have a battery just for starting your motor and then a deep cycle battery for riggers and trolling motor.if you use your trolling motor and riggers alot, depending on the size of your boat, you may even want to run 2 deep cycle batteries.
  14. sounds good to me
  15. just wondering what you guys think about lou members that are going to the lotsa salmon school having a meet and greet type thing sometime that weekend.this is my first time to the area,so maybe someone that has been there before could recommend a place to meet at.also, need to know what night would be best.
  16. i would think the longer people wait, the price is gona keep going up,so if you are going, make your reservations.i even booked thursday night in case the weather looks bad for friday, they have a 2 day cancellation policy,so if i dont need i can cancel thursday night and not get charged.
