  1. i dont know anyone that owns one,but i did look them over on their web site.they some what resemble a steiger or parker.looks like a simple no bells and whistles fishing boat.simple is good!!!!nice wide gunwhales for mounting riggers.big open cockpit for fighting fish.the model i looked at didnt have a closed in pilot house, which is nice to have out there, but im sure you could have drop curtains installed.looks like it would make a good lake o boat.
  2. cannon makes pre-drilled deck plates.i think they are made for between the rigger and gunwhale, but i dont see why you cant use them under the gunwhale, which is what i assume you are looking to do.amazon has them for 28 bucks and free shipping.
  3. i just booked a room for the lotsa fishing expo through hotels.com.it is the quality hotels and suites on first st.it is less than .10 of a mile from the confrence center and the room was 60 bucks a night.this was half price and on a limited time,so if you need a cheap room, check it out.
  4. anyone from oswego/mexico bay area interested in putting a team together for this tourny?i think it would be cool if we could put a team or maybe even a couple together to fish out west.if we could do this maybe then the west end guys would do the same for the oswego pro-am!!!just a thought
  5. drop a 16 lb ball from any rigger and it is gona bounce, from my experience from this past season of lots and lots of ups and downs, the stxs are a good buy.
  6. ditto what skate said, but ill throw my 2 cents in.i think that all the major manufacturers make quality products.im sure people will have stories about having problems at one time or another and having problems with customer service, but overall,i feel they all are quality products.i feel that first off you need to know what your budget is.that will determine where to start, next you need to know what features you want, like dual frequency, bottom zoom, bottom lock, what type of transducer, ect.another important thing is the size of the unit,in the case of electronics i feel that bigger is better, but how much room do you have to mount it.once you know exactly what you want,do some shopping,i bought a new si-tex last winter,i was patient and did alot of searching and the one i bought i got for 100 bucks less than anywhere else.oh,and by the way,i love my si-tex f.f. and just bought a si-tex gps to match.good luck!!!!
  7. samething in watertown!!!!but by next week suppose to be in the fourties and rain, what a mess its gona be

  12. just bought a new si-tex gps and was wondering what you guys recommend for a chip for lake o.my main use and interest is water depth contour lines.thanks in advance!!!!

  14. thanks guys for all the input!!!
  15. same as what every one else said,i ran 16 lb torpedos till i lost a probe on the way down, cable started unwinding and when i stopped the rigger everything went to the bottom.not sure what happened.went back to 13 lbs .after i lost the probe,i put new cable on both riggers, dont remember what brand, bought it at jons lil salmon shop in mexico, never had a problem the rest of the season.when it stops at the water line the boom does some bouncing.dosent seem as noticable when letting it down and stopping.
  16. check out the bottom feeders post in the classifieds

  23. carmle dolphin was goto spoon for browns and salmon.
  24. wind and weather is going to dictate where you fish.plan on spending time looking for a 1 or 2 degree differnce in water temp.after a good rain or blow you will be looking for a mud line.we had our best fishing from catfish to the high rocks, but fished anywhere from the big river to the plant!!!again depending on water temp.
