I have a Raymarine Evolution 200 with a 70R control head paired with a Sport Pilot to turn the wheel and hooked up to a a67 chart/sonar. The Sport Pilot is hard to find now, but its the best combo there is. If you cant find it as a package, your next best bet is to look into an octopus helm and pair it up with another system.

I can usually troll down to 2.2 with my 25' cuddy with a V8 mercruiser, but I have the idle set low (still has great oil pressure). I opted for 2 of the 18" bags so I could deploy them both. In the past I just used a 1 gallon bucket on each side to slow me down if being pushed by the waves, so I figured 2 18s would do the trick. Plus with a bag on each side it helps make the boat more stable.

Ive always just tied 2 or 3 overhand knots further up the line and pulled it tight with pliers. Then just trim off the extra tag. Boated multiple 20lb+ angry kings and have never had the wire break. Another key is to make sure to put a large bead on the line before tying you knot. This prevents from sucking the swivel up into the roller or rod tip. Also, make sure you keep tension on the line when you are storing the rod.

It should still read surface temp without the probe in the water. Are you sure the ducer cable is screwed in all the way? Also check the full run of the cord for damage. If you email fishhawk with issues, they usually respond within a day.

So you had the same issue a few years ago? The blame should be put on the manufacturer....but come on. Its a 10 color full core - how hard is it to make a spool with the number of intended colors. Maybe it so stealthy, the manufacturer has a hard time counting I ended up taking some credit from the vendor and buying an entire bulk spool to finish off switching over the rest of my leadcore rods.

Just heard back from the vendor - they were sorry for the mixup and are correcting the situation. Top notch service!

I just got 3 spools of it and went to rig it up. The first 2 spools only had 9 colors on them (which made me waste a section of it). The 3rd spool wasnt dyed correctly - the red was brighter red and the black was a purple/silver color. Little frustrated that all 3 spools were defective - waiting on an answer from the vendor as to what they are going to do.

Did you ever get an answer to this?

The one advantage of the new bluetooth unit is being able to take snapshots of your actual speed probe and surface speed as well as temperature when a fish hits. Helps to add data to log books if you really want to dial in setups for certain times of the year. I am disappointed that fish hawk decided not to offer a trade in program for those who bought a blue X4D last year. I have my X4D blue display unit up for sale if anyone is interested. Would be a great option if you already have an old Fish Hawk and want to upgrade to a newer unit. All you would have to do is purchase a new depth probe and utilize you existing cabling. Price is $140 shipped.

Sold / Closed Fish Hawk X4D display unit
vetting posted a topic in Classifieds - Buy, Sell, Trade or Rent
Fish Hawk X4D display unit. This is last years model with the blue display. The only reason Im selling it is because I upgraded to the new bluetooth unit. Would be a great option if you already have an old Fish Hawk and want to upgrade to a newer unit. All you would have to do is purchase a new depth probe and utilize you existing cabling. Unit itself was used only 1 season and is in great shape. Has some minor scuffs on the screen that can only be seen when the unit is off and looking at the right angle. Price is $140 shipped. Purchase with confidence - I have an 8000+ positive comment rating on eBay and over 30 transactions here on this forum. -

I got the same kind from amazon except round ones. I trilled a hole in my triple tree rod holders and mounted them on the side. Allows me to still throw a net in the top. Since they are LED, they draw hardly any current. Wired them right up to my small courtesy lights so I can switch them on with the dash switch. I put them in with some lock washers but left them just loose enough that I can still tilt them if I need to - for instance if Im cleaning fish on the boat late at night.

Bwwhahahaha Women should be taken aside at some point and told they dont need all of that "make me pretty stuff". Take it from a guy who lived with someone for 6 years in an 850sq ft house who had serious stuff issues. The 2nd bedroom was all her stuff - 80 pairs of shoes and boots. Enough clothes to fill a dresser, under bed drawers that I built, and 10 totes because there just want a dresser on earth that is big enough. All of that stuff is so they can look pretty for other women on the most part. I dont know about you guys, but I'll take a woman with minimal makeup, a normal Tshirt and ripped up jeans any day over someone all done up. So the moral of the story is, everyone should just go buy they want

Northwood just got the new bluetooth display units in. Just ordered mine - you have to call in. Was 329.99 + shipping. Still feeling a little burned by Fish Hawk since they just introduced their X4D and then came out with the new unit a year later and didnt offer any trade-in.
