  1. Darn small pic! My fav prokings are snow white and wedgie. They are pretty much the only non Moonshine spoons I run.
  2. Yeah we have had some big ones in the Milwaukee area this year. Top fish so far this year on my boat are 26.62 king 26.25 king 10.25 rainbow 24 laker 9lb coho x 5 ...and im just a weekend warrior.
  3. Yes I take paypal - you are the first in line if you want the reels.
  4. .....the question is what do you so when an angry west side of Lake Michigan king spools you on a board on a 4 or 5 color and you cant even crank with pumping the rod. Happened a few times last week during the tournament and there is no bringing that board back without pumping no matter how hard you crank the drag. We had to thumb a few reels even to gain on fish with a board and thats with throttling down and throwing 2 bags out.
  5. 2 Okuma 45D reels with original boxes - $80 shipped Both reels have only been used around 20 times. Both are in nice cosmetic condition with only minimal boat rash. The reel on the left needs to rebuilt - the worm gear is stripped. The reel on the right is ready to fish. I'd have the reel rebuilt and keep on using it but I switched all of my reels over to Daiwa reels. Purchase with confidence - I have an 8000+ positive comment rating on eBay and over 40 transactions here on this forum.
  6. We popped around 200 fish in a 10 day tournament - thats not including the ones that we shook off behind the boat that were under 10 pounds Fishing has been the best I have ever seen it in my time. A lot of our night time trips we didnt quit until 2am or later because they just wouldnt stop hitting - nice problem to have. Here is a pic of my twin 19s that we hit back to back.
  7. You mean like this one? We fished the week long tournament in 11th place with a 10 best fish box at 282.66 box....aka 18.266 per fish average.
  8. I have 6 meat rigs that I got through buying/selling/trading and they dont take toothpicks - I think they only work with pins. Does anyone have any source to just buy replacement pins?
  9. We have a fishing contest at work through our company sponsored fishing club. I had to judge an entry and the guy claims it was a coho. I've never seen a 32" coho without it being completely massive. So is this a coho or steelhead?
  10. Another vote for Shell rotella 15w40 Its what I use in my 89 mercruiser also.
  11. Do you have a fresh water tank on the boat? Even if you dont use it, fill it up - usually its on the port side of the boat and kicker is on the starboard side. Also moving the batteries over to the opposite side helps but that usually involves redoing your battery cables.
  12. I have a freezer on the boat - so Im thinking im going to go the petroleum jelly route and then freeze it up in small batches for 1 day use.
  13. When running with a flasher, what types of flasher, what leads, teaser or no do you guys run?
  14. So I had a lot of luck taking small fillets off of alewifes last year and sticking them right on the hook of flies running behind a flasher. I want to be able to put some alewife stink on spoons. My plan was to do my usually catch them with a sabiki rig and fillet them, but this time I was then going to grind them up. So what should I mix it with to make it into a paste? It has to be something that doesnt have its own scent. Would petroleum jelly work? Maybe a little mineral oil and corn starch?
  15. Here is the list of most important and best purchases for the boat that I've made in descending order. #1 autopilot (got tired of cursing at who ever was attempting to drive) #2 Fish Hawk speed and temp -using SOG on your GPS sucks to dial in that 1.7 to 2.5 species dependent speed. #3 Raymarine chart plotter with NOAA vector charts. Super accurate and lets you pound waypoints over and over again #4 Great Lakes Planners arch system. No more doing a rod dance to deploy 12 rods. Make setting up twice as fast. #5 Boga grip - great for picking fish out of the net and not having to worry about a angry fish flopping around trying to ram a hook in your hand.
  16. Be careful with textured vinyl since magic erasers are technically sand paper
  17. If you contact fish hawk, they will usually help you out.
  18. So what happens when you push the auto button?
  19. Really depends on what is inside the cable. Are there multiple wires or something like coax? Just send fishhawk and email - they usually have great customer service and are reply quickly.
  20. I see that there is a big difference between the Michigan side and the Wisconsin side of lake Michigan. There is a ton more bait and also now a ton of shrimp on our side of the lake. For that very reason we had an influx of natural kings (from the michigan side) for a good part of the summer in the Milwaukee/Chicago area. Swimming 100 miles across the lake to come eat over here.
