We have stayed at Anchor Marine in Fair Haven (Little Sodus Bay) for the past 4 years. We go for the accommodations, dockage, on site gas and of course the fishing. I've been using a pair of Cannon 10STX electrics since 2012. They are rated for max 12 lb weights, so if you want to use a heavier weight I would caution you on this aspect of their ability. They are fast up and down, have auto up & stop when they break the water line. They bounced more than I liked when they stopped at he water line, so I use a short 6 inch snubber from Amish Outfitter's. I would recommend these and buy them again. I have no experience with any other electrics, just the Penn 620 and 625 manuals that seem to last forever that I have on my small tiller powered 15 footer. Good Luck and Boat Safe, Egoody

I had the same problem,i t seemed like forever & that no matter what I tried on my end, I still couldn't get signed in. I have 2015 Merc 15hp Big Foot. For the winter storage I change the oil and gear lube. Take it off the boat, mount it onto my stand and put it in my heated garage. The only part that sucks is it weighs 138lbs and its a bich to lift it on and off the transom by myself. Haven't had any problems in the spring when I go to use it. Boat Safe Egoody

Go to the Cisco web site, they have Sport Track brackets especially designed to mount down riggers. If you don't see what you need or have any questions, give them a call. They are very helpful. I use the Cisco rod holders and sport track mounts on my Lund 1800 Sport Angler. Boat Safe Egoody

This Happened to me, or better yet this is how I learned a valuable lesson. I was trolling on Lake Champlain when I got too close to the reef in Farm Town Bay, when my rigger ball got hung up. I tried to back up to get on the other side of it trying to get it loose, but the wind was blowing and I was losing ground. So instead of chancing having my 10STX ripped off, I cut the rigger cable. I could have continued fishing, but figured I'd get off the water and head up to Dutillios, (sorry for spelling) to buy another cable, 10lb ball and termination kit. Now back on the water, my partner and I, After installing one of the sleeves that came with the new 300 ft cable and crimping it, we hand wound the cable onto the rigger. Now I wanted to make sure it was wound tight on the rigger reel. How could I do that? Well I had a great idea, I'd go out to 300FOW let the cable out to 280 ft with the new ball i just bought and just wind it back up. Well, at about 275 feet out I looked at the rigger reel and all of a sudden, the single crimp i had put on must have let loose and there goes my new cable, ball and termination kit. Talk about being Pssd off!! Lesson learned, ALWAYS use both sleeves and crimp each one at 90 degrees from each other that are included with the new cable, That's what I did with the next one I bought and as an added level of confidence, I tied a knot in the end of the cable just incase the crimped sleeves ever let loose. Hi, I have (2) 13lb Yeck pancake weights I'll sell for 40.00 each plus shipping. They have only been uses twice so they are like new. I bought sharks to replace them. I will say pancakes don't work well in Lake O because of the water currents. Not trying to talk you out of them, but the shark shaped ones really work the better. Hi, I'm coming up to Henderson Hbr May 23 for 5 days for the first time. No idea what the harbor fishing will be then, but if I wanted to launch out of the Stoney Creek launch instead of the one in Hbr, I have a couple of questions. I'm looking at the NOAA map and it shows shallow water and grass at 1ft depth and a little further closer to the lake, rocks at 3ft depth just before you get to the main lake. Im running a 1800 Sport Angler (Lund) with the 150Hp Merc 4 stroke. Will I have trouble getting into the main lake from this launch? I was thinking that the Stoney Creek Launch would easier than going across Henderson Hbr, Trying to determine the best path to take to get past the shoal by Gull Island and then motoring down around Stoney Point. This may all be a mute point in a few weeks when I arrive, as I may have good luck without going down to the Stoney Creek area. Just looking to be prepared before I arrive. Hi, May be a little late for this season but I've been running a 250 Polaris explorer with chains on the rear wheels and it went great on smooth ice with little or no snow along as I didn't want to make a turn. It just kept going straight. I had to jump off and jerk the front end around to get me headed in the direction I wanted to go. I'd suggest chains in all four wheels or stud the front tires with the chains on the rears. Just my experience. Egoody
