  1. Great job out there! The best way to learn is how your doing it! I started walleye fishing 20. Yr ago and had to figure it out.., well still really haven’t tho.., burned a lot of fuel and time but that’s the best way.. anyone can follow the pack or do what the guy at tackle shop heard.. but what satisfaction is there in that? Keep on keeping on and you get out what you put into things! Sent from my iPhone using Lake Ontario United mobile app
  2. The isthmus is rather shallow and would be touchy in a boat that size especially with the current water level.. also a long run into the bay on open lake that can be unforgiving. We. Launch out of Longpoint st park and that puts u on the middle of good fishing, but no guarantee the docks will be in. Also the Chamount bay marina on the north side of 12 just west of the chamount river would be your best bet with a boat of that size, as it has permanent docks. Any other question hit me up Sent from my iPhone using Lake Ontario United mobile app
  3. Great article and congratulations to both of your successes! Takes a strong team to accomplish such Sent from my iPhone using Lake Ontario United mobile app

  8. JT- thanks and I will message him! Been 20 yrs on the water in search of this fish! 196- she is 31 ich and 13.2 lb. not the longest fish we have ever landed but defiantly the fullest! My sons 12.5lb was 32.5, only if he would have caught in December and not May she would of been one heavy weight for sure. Sent from my iPhone using Lake Ontario United mobile app
  9. Hello, I know there had been some discussions on Lou about taxidermists and I am in search of a good walleye one. Got personal best over the weekend and will be mounting her, just not sure by who. I have one by American wildlife that looks good after I clear coated it and 1 done by Adams last year. Paint looks great but the form he made is rather bland.. any recemodations would be great. Thanks! Sent from my iPhone using Lake Ontario United mobile app
  10. Wow, some great deer taken! Congratulations to all. Headed up to do some walleye fishing tomorrow for a few days in Chamount bay and surrounding areas. Zero walleye in the freezer so hopeing for results.. plenty of venison tho, but want hat surf and turf! Been letting the hunting land settle down and will be back at it with the late season buc tag since I stroked it during bow... Sent from my iPhone using Lake Ontario United mobile app
  11. Happy thanksgiving, Took my youngest out this morning, first time having chips and dip for breakfast while hunting! First for everything I guess🤣. We had a great hunt seeing wide variety of game. He had a good question when a flock of turkeys came by, why can’t we shoot a bird on thanksgiving?? Actually a great question... 12. Some beautiful deer ladies and gentlemen. Congratulations to all of you! I finally got me opening morning of shotgun, fell short with getting a buck with the bow tho... many bucks sighted but the mature deer with out of my comfortable range or caught me off guard. That’s the beauty of this sport, roller coaster for sure! Sent from my iPhone using Lake Ontario United mobile app
  13. Congrats to all that have had success! Some great bucks hitting the dirt lately.. I been seeing plenty but the mature deer have been slightly out of range or catch me off guard... I have been surprised by the amount of day activity during this heat wave. Good luck to all Sent from my iPhone using Lake Ontario United mobile app

  16. Still plenty of time, hold on for that big one. You already have killed bucks in that class. By looks of that pic he is fully mature, if you have good control of the hunting ground let him be. If you know the dates he slipped up last year huntem then. Sent from my iPhone using Lake Ontario United mobile app
  17. I have been looking around the internet for a red moon guide/ calendar with dates and times. Does anyone know where to find one without spending the cash on a app or a calendar? Thanks in advance Sent from my iPhone using Lake Ontario United mobile app

  19. Congrats to all who have had success! Whalers son..[emoji106][emoji106] I took my youngest to camp with me over the weekend and we harvested our first deer together! What a great weekend, hunted squirrel Saturday late morning into early afternoon, in the Greenwood state forest, then rock creek and klipknocky, on the way down Friday. Good thing he had lot of ammo for the red rider, chipmunks are taking over! Stopped by letchworth on way home and then even got to see a few motos at pavilion motocross track after. He has the eyes of a hawk and is a natural! Hunting has turned more into the journey than the harvest for me over the years! Sent from my iPhone using Lake Ontario United mobile app
  20. That’s Awesome, congrats! There ain’t no hunting like bow hunting! Welcome bac! Couple does last night, wind was a little iffy so played it safe with stand selection. Sent from my iPhone using Lake Ontario United mobile app
  21. The new America... fisherman can no longer get along either🤣.. I understand the passion runs deep for sum and thanks for all those that do promote and enhance OUR fishery.. I am a little confused as to how we want natural spawning but they get caught on their journey on their way to do so??? If natural spawning is happening why wouldn’t the season close as it does with walleye, bass, pike etc? My son and I fished the lake Saturday outa the oak then we went to the power plant, only due to his request. Quite a few kings landed and watched all the hens that were caught were stripped of their eggs... as well as several stripped out carcasses by the parking lot[emoji17]. thank god walleye closes for the spawn🤣🤣 Sent from my iPhone using Lake Ontario United mobile app
  22. Caught many a salmon on those balls deep down riggers!! There were 3, if looking for the other its on the bottom in Chamount bay.. We wore them out, Pre-kid days.........Good deal Jonny NOV

  24. Congrats on the beautiful fish!!!! Happy birthday as well! Seems like we can’t make our own choice, possibly it’s their fish? Kinda like deer hunting nowadays... [emoji20] Sent from my iPhone using Lake Ontario United mobile app
  25. I am very glad everything worked out... I fish with the same crew, dad, sons etc, I couldn’t imagine that happening .. thank you for telling your story. It definitely opened my eyes as to how things can happen quick.. as well as we should all learn from this.. be prepared and expect the unexpected. I hope everything works out the best it can for you and you will get back on the water when your ready. The convo with the diver, wow, very humbeling. Interested as to see the pictures, Starcraft a tuff boat... mine held up to skidding across a exposed shoal a few weeks bac in the Adirondacks, was choppy that day and couldn’t see it in low valleys of the waves or maybe I just got lucky????
