I am sure it's harder to fall off a 21 footers.(The water is warmer off a large boat LOL.) I run a 23 foot and in winter and spring I wear my auto inflatable jacket you don't even know you have it on. You can buy them for under 100 bucks. I was born and brought up on Seneca and I was brought up to respect the water. I am not telling you to wear it the state of NY is.

If you run a board all the way across it really stiffened the gimbal mounts up and spreading the weight out. My gimbals are just screws and I run 6ft booms on my downrigger no problem. I found a nice piece of rough cut cherry

Hi all yep I have had similar problems but my slip is across from the village launch on a buzzy weekend I just sit on the boat and watch people launching it's the best show to watch all day and I don't burn a drop off gas .

Sk8man WOW copper fishing has gotten tricky. 60 years ago we put 2 pie tins together wind copper around it with a swivel 10 ft leader with a twin minnow or a fluger on the end.
