  1. I met my brother at the boat launch in the north end at 5am.  We had only thoughts of silvers but also wanted to complete our first Seneca slam.  Armed with lots of new information we put down just passed bellhurst in 90ft of water.  we ran spoons on riggers parked at 55 and 65 with sliders on both.  we ran a dipsey with blue dolphin spoon out 140 on 3 setting off of starboard side and ran a dipsey pulling white with green dot sp pulling a green glow atomic fly back 154 on 3 setting. ran 10 color leadcore down the middle pulling lemon ice spoon.  we trolled se for about 30 mins til the 55 rigger fired was a nice 4lb rainbow got him in net then he did a rainbow jump and out of the net he went.  about 20 mins later the 65 rigger fired was a 3lb laker landed then back into the lake he went.  action was slow and didnt have any good screen so we made a move to 85 ft of water south of roys marina.  We immediatley had a good screen. We set out the port side dipsey with a habenero sd and Habenero fly back 154ft on 3 setting.  I then continued to put out the other dipsey when the 1rst 1 fired was a small 18" LL but was our first ever!  back in he goes. put the dipsey back out get and 2nd one in pulling green gator with blue hammer fly.  put down first rigger and bam same dipsey fired again this time a 6lb laker.  he was bleeding bad when we got him in the net so in the box he went.  from there on out it was a steady pick of lakers and bows. we never got a brown to the boat so no slam but had a great time taking turns catching fish with my brother and nephew.  we ended the day with over 20 bites and about 12 fish in the boat.  all but 5 lakers that died before they could be revived lived to be caught another day

We owe a BIG thanks to Sk8man Blueghost and Erabbit for sending us the info that helped us catch the silvers.  Thank you Guys from my brother and I !!!    :)

  2. So ive launched out of lodi yesterday and today.  i covered from 90ft out to 500ft of water and all depths in between and the only fish im contacting are lakers.  this morning i launched and trolled south almost to the glen on the east side.  i ran 2 rigges at 55 and 65 my dipsy out at 240 on 3 setting and a 10 color leadcore down the middle . ran flasher flies off dipsey and spoons off riggers and leadcore.  i caught only 2 lakers and 1 small bow.  i fish lake o alot and can usually do well but everytime i go to seneca i struggle   anyone have any suggetions on why the browns good bows and LLs avoid me?  any info would be appreciated  thank you in advance

  3. i fished from 5 to about 730   i tried to go out to 150ft to set up but was too bumby for my little boat so i went inside and ran a brown program.  i was fishing solo as i do most of the time so i only ran a 3 rod set.  i put down in 40 ft parked the first rigger at 35ft with a dw ssw parked the other rigger at 25ft with a warrior uv green gator mag spoon.  then i ran a 5 color leadcore down the middle with a bf alpha alewife spoon.  after about 30mins i was getting up to change the leadcore spoon when it started bouncing fish on.  it was a perfect little brown around 2lbs.  i reset it back out and turn to look and fish finder and saw a huge school of bait and then the 25ft riggers released fish on.  this one was slightly bigger maybe 3lbs.  i thought i was about to get into them but i was wrong those were the only 2 fish i caught.  i trolled till about 730 then picked up and went in    i worked from 40 to 60 feet of water both bites were in 52 ft

  4. left the chute at 530 headed ne towards shipbuilders. i put down in 150ft trolling my 3 rod set as i was fishing solo again as usual.  i put a dipsey out 240 on 3 setting pulling a white glow sd with green dots and a green glow atomic fly.  then i put down rigger with mup rig double dw ssw parked it at 55ft.  i ran the 10 coolor leadcore down the middle pulling a new spoon from warrior lures that im testing for a buddy.    i no sooner got the leadcore out and in the rod holder when it starts ripping.  10 mins later i put the net under a 12# king.  i put the leadcore back out and within 5 mins it fired again this time with a nice 8# steely.  about 20mins goes by im in 165ft of water and the rigger starts screaming but it drops before i even get the rod out of the holder.  i drop the rigger back to 55ft and wham it takes another hit around 10# king.  i no sooner  got the small king in the boat and the leadcore starts ripping again ends up being another 8# steely.   then i troll out to 250ft and turn around to troll back south.  on the turn then leadcore fires again with another nice steely that i lost next to the boat while trying to get the net out.  then it was like  someone hit the off switch at about 830 for me til i got into about 135ft when the leadcore fired again.  this time it was a nice 9# brown trout on a alfa alwie bf spoon. then i realized kicker motor was running low on gas so i called it a day around 1030   10 color leadcore pulling anything greean and black was the star of the show

  5. It's a cheater line pinned with a rubberband half hitched around the main line.

Set the downrigger down 10' with the main line attached. Then lean over the side of the boat and attach your cheater to a half hitched rubberband and the main line at the water line. Two lures on one rod.

Sent from my SCH-I535 using Lake Ontario United mobile app

so its a slider that is pinned in a certain place by the rubberband? does the size of the spoons matter?
