  1. Nice going. We wanted to try out deeper on Saturday but it was too rough for us.
  2. We launch out of the main launch right by the channel and have no issues, good spot to pop out into the bay or lake
  3. OK, yeah we definitely saw your boat. Cool, hopefully catch up with you sometime out there
  4. Thanks Chris- Is your boat a light yellow? I think we saw you as well. Good luck
  5. Sounds like I was more lucky than good
  6. Legacy- The link you attached from NOAA, is there a link when you open their site that gives you the info you posted? When I do it, I don't get the wave height. Thanks for any help
  7. Fished East of the bay from 6 AM til 10:30 AM, lots of debris making it hard to deal with so we only ran 2 flat lines long ways back (160+) and fished the whole time in water 8 to 12 FOW. We went 8 for 13 with one king and the rest browns. ALL on Firetiger, couldn't get anything else to work so just stuck with what worked. Since my brother's boat is smaller it was difficult with the waves so we didn't do anything more than that. Saw a lot more boats West.... Tomy
  8. We were out there too but stayed shallow the whole time, thanks for the report
  9. yeah, i went on a charter last weekend and the captain was using them and showing me them. definitely perked my interest.
  10. I am debating buying some, with having the standard size dipsies, I think the size #5 would be more beneficial as they dive the deepest, any thoughts?
  11. i fished with a charter this past weekend and he showed them to me and we had a dipsy rod set with it, pretty nice set-up. i really like the fact that you don't need to let out a ton of line to achieve the depths.
  12. Yes, I did mean peanut flies, I didn't mean to confuse them with regular peanuts or spin-n-glows. I have a set up that I want to try this spring. I have a orange dipsy to run it behind as well.
  13. Trident Marina - East Lake Rd
  14. I was thinking of using a red 00 dodger followed by a peanut, will that work where we fish? Not sure what a thumper rod is, still really new to this. Thanks
  15. What's strange about the bass fishing is we used to KILL the smallies with very little largie action, now in the past years, can't buy a smallie out there. Seems all related to when we started seeing Zebra mussels followed by the algae blooms. The one thing that has stayed constant has been the bluegill fishing, right off our dock with a bobber and jig with a wax worm catching slobs that you cannot get your hand around them to grab them.
  16. It's good to hear good reports, my parents have a place on the East side right directly across from where the California Ranch used to be, I grew up fishing there and have some great memories. Lately though, fishing has seemed to die off, terrible algae blooms during the summer. My parents have the place for sale so it will be sad to see that come to an end. We used to murder the Walleyes in front of his place this time of year.
  17. I've read this works well on Lake Michigan for Cohos and Steelies, has anyone had success with this setup on Lake O? Thanks for any input Tomy
