  1. Headed out this afternoon with Erupprecht for a shakedown on his boat, we fished back and forth in front of Shipbuilders. Most productive depth was 16 fow but we didn't really venture out as the wind and waves were blowing us all over the place. We just ran flat lines with Smithwicks and J-9's. Caught 3 browns and got one 15# King. Fire Tiger and Orange caught the fish. Truly a bonus to catch the King. Fished from 5 to 7:30 PM
  2. First time out this year, caught a big brown with one on it, that was the first time I caught a fish with one on it. I killed it and released the fish free of it.
  3. Thanks, wasn't sure as they do have a different profile
  4. Another Lima guy here...York Street
  5. What is the difference with running a 'slasher' style paddle for meat rigs compared to the standard style? Are these better for running these rigs? It seems like from past posts and pics, the standard paddles are used in a larger (11") size, just wondering what this slasher paddle has for benefits in using them. Thanks!
  6. Thanks. I wasn't sure what the difference was with the profile.
  7. Are these paddles that are used when running meat rigs?
  8. Sorry for your loss Thanks for the report
  9. Beautiful morning to fish though. My brother and I see you out there all the time, you probably saw his boat as we were launching, he has a maroon lund predator.
  10. Great report! I thought we had a decent morning getting 10 but everytime I read your posts I realize how green I am. I can't imagine catching the frequency of fish that you consistently produce.
  11. My brother, Eruprecht and I went out this morning, went 10 for 14, all browns from Shipbuilders to Webster Pier. Firetiger was the best color in the stained water areas. Biggest brown probably 7 lbs. First time we got doubles which was cool, ended up with 2 doubles. Beautiful morning to fish
  12. Thanks for the tip. I really want to try it out this summer.
  13. One other question, if using a bait head rig like a Rhys Davis, when you rig the meat, what do you do to 'tune' it to roll? I heard you need to insert a piece of wire into the meat, is that accurate? Or does the bait head roll on its own?
  14. I agree a wealth of information. Thank you all that contributed.
  15. Thanks, basically a firetiger unless I am missing something....appreciate you posting the pic dvdegeorge
  16. I have heard about the Billy Baroo color but can't find a link to see what the color looks like, does anyone have a pic they can post?
  17. If using actual meat and not the Rockets, are the whole alewifes or the cut herring from a company like Familiar Bite better?
  18. So I guess with that being said, if you run a 60" leader behind a flasher you could not run a meat rig on a dipsy since you could not bring the fish to net with having such a long leader from the flasher on top of the leader going from the flasher to the dipsy. I would have thought the leader would have been similar to what we use with a fly but that's why I appreciate the information because I am no professional. Thanks!
  19. I was actually reading through this thread last night as I wanted to learn about running meat rigs, the question I didn't see answered was how long is the leader from the flasher to the rig? Also, can these be run off of dipsies or better off of riggers? Thanks in advance. A lot of helpful info on that particular thread.
  20. Could a split shot be used in the same size in lieu of a keel sinker?
  21. my brother and I trolled right by you on Saturday by the Webster pier, that section from the pier to Shipbuilders took all the shots for us. Nice rig!!! What size split shot do you use ahead of a spoon? Thanks!!
  22. Went out later and hit the water at 10:30 and fished until 3:30. Went 8 for 13 with all browns. Fished from Shipbuilders to Webster Pier, 10 FOW being the best for us. Found some stained water and that was where we took all the fish. All stick baits, other than 2 onfire tiger, all natural colors did well. Mostly 3-4 lbers with on nice one which was 12 lbs. My phone went dead so very poor picture from my brothers phone.
