Sodus had this happen. Less than 5yrs ago the spring perch fishing was unreal. Now if you want to catch 5in perch go there but the jumbos are gone. A couple springs of them getting pounded will hurt them.
I wanted to try and get through it there were some real big pieces moving around in the waves and all i could picture was my aluminum hull getting peeled back like a soda can
Launched at north end and was able to get out of the channel with no trouble. Only ran 2 flat lines off the back as I don't had boards yet. Got 1 brown about 20in long and that was it.
Anyone ever try for pickerel perch or rock bass down that way this time of year? Would be nice just to get into some fish and take advantage of the nice weather
Anybody know if launching at union springs is possible this time of year with the water down? i have a 16 foot lund tiller model. Its not super heavy and if waders are needed to walk it off the trailer so be it but if its only inches of water it would save me the trouble of hauling it down.
I was thinking about Sampson if it was to rough. Never been but throwing a small jig into some open water will be a nice change of pace instead of waiting for ice
Saw something identical to this in 30fow last Saturday. Tried jigging over top of it but no takers

tried to make it out to at least 130 to try and find some fish on bait that we could jig over. the seas were a little to angry for my lund fury and i had to turn around in 70fow and head back. did find huge pod of bait in 30fow with several large hooks around it. tried jigging assuming they were smallies but no takers. has anyone ever tried to jig kings? its popular on lake michigan and my cousin had success a few years back on lake O

I grew up 5 min from east bay and fished it a lot. Once pike season opens its great for them. You'll catch plenty of bass too but once the weeds grow thick it gets tough to fish

I heard Cayuga was producing a few. Can anyone confirm? Just realized my trailer registration is up and can't find the renewal so I'll have to wait until this week to get to the DMV. Would like to get out tomorrow from shore and heard bullhead could be caught at the park in Cayuga
