Anybody know if the union springs launch/area by the island is ice free? I'd drive down and check tomorrow but forgot I promised the misses I would take her to dinner. Gotta pay the dues before I start disappearing on the weekends to chase perch

Electric is definitely the way to go when you have a lot of fish. You can buy curved blades if the knife came with straight ones you'll see a huge difference in how easy it is. Make sure they're sharp and with some practice you won't pick up a regular knife again

Is casting for browns and landlocked an option at T-falls? Never been and I think millekin would be getting pounded with waves today

Well that explains it then. I only know of toys marina for bait down that way. Anyplace to get minnows near the park or should I run up to sodus for them

What body of water are you fishing? Jigging smelt is one of my favorite things to do through the ice

Usually fish Cayuga but going to give Seneca a try this year. Is there ice down as far as Roy's Marina? Been years since I fished there but that's where I launched.

Anybody out on Cayuga right now? I want to head to deans cove and launch but not sure how choppy it is

I see some of the fish being caught are shallower than weeks past. Has anyone tried the piers yet?

Not sure on the smallies but is there a public or cheap boat launch in or near the harbor? Fished the river a lot but not the harbor area

Might as well feed them whole. Teach the young that this is food. Electro shocking in shallow water would get a lot of them and the young perch could be tossed back

1" gulp minnows and 1" gulp leeches are my go to baits for perch and bluegill now. The 1" leeches seem to attract the big gills

Anyone been to the mud locks yet? I've heard that alewives get in there and I'm low on cut bait for channel cats

Can anyone tell me what it means when it says I have to select a topic prefix before my classified ad will post. I've tried some different things but it isn't working. I am using the app on my phone so I thought maybe that was it. Any help is appreciated.

The bluefin is whatever you want it to be. Its stripped down to the stringers on the inside but it was a remote steer at one point

The kayak is a 10ft future beach trophy 126. Only used a hand full of times and comes with paddle for $300
The project boat is a 16ft bluefin hull. Rock solid transom and no leaks but like I said its just the hull. Comes on a trailer with a spare for $500
I'm located about 25min south of sodus point just off of route 31

I've started going up to sodus point to do this for only a couple of years now but have heard mixed opinions of when to start and have a decent chance of catching something. Last night and today we've had a good NNW wind so I'm definitely going to try tonight
