    Have to say I tried with the Victrola, wasn't the biggest fan. I got a 8'6" okuma copper rod and a okuma convector reel and spooled 500' of copper on that. I LOVE pulling copper for lakers. For me the rod and reel is a lot more enjoyable. To each is his own either way it's an awesome time!

    Nice pics you got there. I've been doing great with perch on cayuga this year! Been ice fishing for 10 years now never tried a flasher yet. Is it that much better? Most of north end of cayuga I fish you can see down to the bottom.

    If you get frustrated with riggers and planers, try running copper. I run copper with an okuma rod and reel. I target lake trout with them it's awesome! Just some food for thought. Good luck have fun!

    Hey mike thanks for the video! I checked the spool I have in my boat and it is 36lb leadcore with all 10 colors. I have another 18lb spool but with only 4 colors or so. Will the 36 be ok?

    Sweet I was looking at a 8'6" eagle claw downrigger combo. Reel isn't much to speak of but ill get a nicer one once I figure things out. Thanks
