    I check mine at the surface when conditions are calm and compare it to my GPS speed my probe seems to be consistent .4 faster than my sog gps speed so I just factor that in for my down speed, has worked for me. Sent from my XT1585 using Lake Ontario United mobile app

    I see that Sunday looks like good water as far as the waves but with Fri and Saturday ripping like that from the NE who knows where those fish will be??? I'd only have a few hours in the morning and I'd have to head back to Ohio. Im not a huge fan of that crazy fog that will probably be around with what will probably be 40 some degree surface temps.     We Use the pool noodle but I split it so the hooks can be tucked down in the slit and not get caught on everything, then I wrap the line around and stick a straight pin in the chain swivel end, keep extra straight pins in the end. I do the same for my walleye harnesses and leaders, I just use pins in both ends of the leader. It's just a lot cleaner than 2 of the 3 Barb's sticking out.
