Was there today also. Moved all over on north side. Caught hlaf dozen perch one catfish and some silver bass or whatever they are. Had the camera and every hole I could see small groups of 4-5 perch swim by every hour or so. Dont think major runs are gona happen for another 2-3 weeks. Definitely need ice gone first!

Bought an fl-20 last year with tri beam transducer. Love that feature and the zoom is a must! Best investment for the ice yet. Easily made fishing into catching most of the time!

Sk8man, thanks for the info. Not much of a drinker; while fishing anyway. All business when the lines drop. Lol. Thanks for the info its my first year with a machine and kinda leary of taking it out. Always used them with friends on oneida but never ran into any "scary conditions"

New to the kendall area. Does anyone know of farmers that may allow hunters on their property?

Some great opinions from all. For my two cents, I agree that lake o especially, has a definite population of smallies but they are much more concentrated in smaller areas. I believe that only ones with very good electronics can be successful. As I have seen tournaments in Irondequoit and sodus with several people having 15-20+lb bags of five fish. All from going in the lake. Unfortunately most of us cant afford gps controlled trolling motors and 2000 fish finders. I still go and try but to no luck hope one day it will be better!

I was there the weekend of the 27- 29th and unfortunately a two day tournament was held that same weekend. Fishong was tough. Weeds are very thick shallow and thin out deeper. Fishing was tough and many tourney guys said the same. Stick to the north end in thick weeds pitching jigs and soft plastics or fish the channel edge with drop shot or search baits, cranks and spinner baits. Best of luck!
