I was there from 730-11. Only a few touches, had my three holes chipped. Only a few bites nothing landed. I like that jig/spoon you have. Sent from my iPad using Lake Ontario United mobile app

I had three holes 50 ft off shore 100, 150. I had one big bite in the two hours, he hit half way up the water column on a green kinami grub on a straight retrieve, out of the 100ft off shore hole, probably 130ft deep. Sent from my iPad using Lake Ontario United mobile app
  7. Thats a neat technique jigging with a flasher. Did anyone see his bait? Sent from my iPad using Lake Ontario United mobile app
  8. Canandaigua, 105ft couple hundred feet off that red cottage that's for sale almost directly across from the marina on the east side. The one I caught was on a rock pile. Sent from my iPad using Lake Ontario United mobile app
  9. What do you like to use bondouley Spoons jigs n soft plastics? I have had success with both I even pulled up a burbot this fall on a diamond jig in front of the red cottage on the east side that is for sale. Sent from my iPad using Lake Ontario United mobile app
  10. Wow those are nice. Congratz. I walked from woodville launch Tuesday, all the way to 100ft, caught a little billy laker that wouldn't have even been a meal for those big ones. Sent from my iPad using Lake Ontario United mobile app

Thq for the wisdom sk8, I appreciate it. It did not feel too safe out there even with 5" or so lots of cracks, super clear. Sent from my iPad using Lake Ontario United mobile app

Yea the ice was scary. Some areas 4", and crystal clear. I caught them both on soft plastic 3" kalin grub watermelon seed. I tried my butterfly jigs, diamond jigs, other soft plastic shadilicious, green super flukes to no avail. Sent from my iPad using Lake Ontario United mobile app
  15. After 3 trips, I finally caught a decent laker. And the little guy is my personal best, billy laker. The ice was crystal clear in front of onanda. Creepy clear about 4-6" thick. Had quite a scare when the major hiking trail stream at onanda must have had an ice dam higher up. I had my back turned to shore, and heard what sounded like trees crashing. I turned around and that stream came rushing out on to the ice, I grabbed my poles and started running. Had one bite in 4 hours but a good one. Both the billy and the big one took a 3" kalin grub on a 1/4oz ball jig. I threw everything else at them but that's what they took. No other touches. 18. I tried 6.5" shadalicious on a 1.5oz jig with a stinger, on keuka in November. I had a few on it. Of course it is keuka, but I found bigger fish hit that along with my 80gram shimano flatfall jig. Sent from my iPad using Lake Ontario United mobile app
  19. I would love to launch on Sunday. Anyone know if the state launch is open, free of ice? Sent from my iPad using Lake Ontario United mobile app
  20. I haven't spent time trying for lakers. However, I am sure that would work. Try targeting keuka to hone your craft.
  21. Decimal points yer crazy....wait I do have no idea what I am talking about.
  22. Thx sk8man I would love to ice fish keuka, that would be a blast. Some day
  23. The smaller numbers are their attempt at writing on the diagonal. So if you look at Lake Ontario, you will notice that if you place the three numbers together they relate to the surrounding depths. It is a weird way to present the numbers it might be a line layering issue where they cant place a number atop a contour line. Just my guess.
  24. I found this and thought I would share. http://www.navionics.com/en/webapp Heck of a resource any mobile smart phone can utilize, I also installed the iOS app for us&canada. It was free and the basic depth maps work really well, I thought I was paying the 54$ but that is only for the in app upgrade. After I realized the iOS app was free I wanted to get the sonar+ so I paid for the 54$ yearly subscription, to find that the initial free version provided me with 95% of what I needed! canandaigua! keuka! Seneca! cayuga have excellent detail along with Ontario. I hope this provides someone with a nice free resource. I found the accuracy with the depth in the penn yan arm a little suspect as I know there are areas where it marks 105 ft are 140ft. However, there is very nice detail for oneida, and the st Lawrence, etc...
  25. I believe it typically does not freeze. )
