I'm heading over to keuka Friday morning to do some duck hunting at my girlfriends cottage. I'm thinking about bringing my boat and doing some jigging for lakers during the middle of the day between hunts. Is it worth a try or do you guys think is just be wasting my time.

Should I take my Minn Kota off the boat for the winter and store indoors or is it fine to leave outside and attached to the boat. It has autopilot if that matters. Thanks

My buck on opening day this year did 😉. A lot of my spots are areas where deer can come from any direction. How am I supposed to know what thicket or corn field a bucks going to come from?

I'm with everyone on scent control and wind but I feel there are a few days where it's in your best interest to throw caution to the wind and just go for it in your best stand no matter the wind. Opening day of bow being one. The very first bitter cold/gloomy day in November and opening day of gun. Also I have stands that deer can come from any direction so I feel like you just have to hunt them no matter the wind when the timing is right. I don't know.....just my opinion. 95% of the time I play the wind first and for most.

Put a buddy in one of my honey holes this afternoon. He helped me trim the stand this summer. Ended up shoot a nice 10.

Yesterday morning I saw 4 different bucks. All of them were doggin does hard. One was a decent 16in spread 8pt that has a split g2. He came right under the stand. It's on. Just have to be in the right place at the right time.

I wasn't trying to start an argument or call you dumb. I was just stating something I thought might have been over looked. That is all. I'm huge into QDM. I'm on a 1200 acre lease not to far from cohocton that practices harvesting bucks at a minimum age of 3.5 and we have seen good results. I also follow the same rules on small properties I hunt with the hope the 1.5, 2.5s make it. Good luck hunting. Sent from my iPhone using Lake Ontario United
Were you getting smallmouth or largemouth. I was thinking of doing some drop shot fishing on the points this afternoon in hopes of finding some smallies.
Fished braddocks yesterday from 6-9. Landed one 15lb king in 115ft down about 100 on a green fly with a frog spin doctor. Marked a lot of fish around 70ft tho.
