Hey, I fish a kayak near Swiss. There is a launch a few hundred feet north of Swiss, but you have to leave you're boat and gear to go to power station to park. I launch my kayak at power station, there is a short hill but if you stay to the right hand side of lot hill is not bad.100 ft water is about a 15 min paddle. Just point to end of bluff, there are trollers there, they will be trolling the 100 ft line, and jig as other posts have said.

I have fished Ontario for long time, had two boats the last a 25 ft, now I fish from shore. I recently purchased a fishing kayak and have fished mendon and Seneca lake but not Ontario. I have hopes of launching at Webster park and then other spots. My question is how is the best way to dress for cold water.

Yup, the little so'n so 's. it sure was nice running into a small school of them, the best in a long while. Besides trout and salmon, they are my favorites and the numbers are down everywhere. I fish mostly Ontario , and still remember the numbers of smallys, at sunset Webster pier, incredible.
Fished keuka from private dock, 8 smallmouth..4 keeper size, 1 15 inch all caught from 5:00-6:15 then everything shut down . All caught on drop shot rig, chartreuse plastic worm. Big fish slashing on surface, tried about every spoon I had with me, didn't have any body baits. Still.. Love them smallys
Thx, we really covered some water to get them, also some strong currents created some challenging messes to undo

Used to troll for 13 yrs, Lake Ontario , caught some really nice fish. But wanted to simplify and am now a shore bound fisherman. Spring caught 12# 6 oz brown from pier, wound up on leader board Loc spring derby, won a little money , no boat, just rod in hand. I fish Ontario, keuka, Seneca. Just got back from keuka, and from shore caught 3 lakers, pickerel , and 4 smallmouth, one was 21 inches long. Having a ball.
