  1. Lot of mussels out there and that is a good part of the problem. They are cleaning the water too well. Much to the effect that the bait fish don't have enough to feed on. Throw in two back to back record breaking cold winters and that is why the lake is where it is. Oversimplified but you should get the idea.
  2. You will get whatever they shove down our throats and willing to swallow. Watch the price of sporting goods go up and selection go down. This was not a good thing.
  3. Reel. I can understand why you posted that pic, but once you put it out there it can be used for all different purposes than what you intended.
  4. Your prices are more than fair for what you are offering.
  5. Holy I think they are the same. If not they definetly have the same daddy. Left antler is a little messed in top photo but that could have been due to injury during development.
  6. Interesting read in that article.
  7. Nice toy you got there. Good luck with it.
  8. Yeah they replaced but I upgraded to the swivel pedestals and just had to pay the difference. Just check the others for cracks as well.
  9. You absolutely right about that Gator. The mussels in LO did a better job of cleaning up the water than the clean water act could of. The lack of plankton on east end has made for tough fishing. West end gets the plume from Erie. Like they say 90% of fish in 10% of the lake. Today you can count the rocks on the bottom in 20 fow. Wasnt the case 30 years ago. Have to change our ways as LO changes.
  10. Gator, you are absolutely right that there is a gap. Any one who spent some time on the lake fishing those years knew there was a bait problem. IMO, I don't think it is as bad as they want to make it out to be therefore resulting in the amount of reduced stocking that is being proposed.
  11. Not a real good study showing the whole picture of alewife biomass in Lake O. Seems to me that most of bait is on north shore at that time of year due to it being most ideal for alewife but they dont sample it due to ripping of nets. One big trawl showing such and they threw out data. Scientific method they use is BS !!!
  12. Pic would help alot.
  13. Cannon sells pedestals with a swivel in 4 0r 6" heights. That is what I went with.
  14. No I have a glass boat with tracks This first pic is what happen when it let loose. The second pic is of another base that cracked and I wasnt aware of. Cannon offered to replace but opted to go with upgraded all metal ones. Just had to pay the difference.
  15. I run 4 of the Mag 10 stx's. Been on boat for the last four years. The only issue I had were the swivel bases that came with these. Had one totally shatter when I was setting a line.Luckily I was able to grab it before it went totally over.
  16. Make them fix it. Finding parts is like looking for a needle in a haystack.
  17. Mark, from your experience I have no doubts that you are now a better hunter due to your bitter experience.
  18. Have yet to catch one of those but really want to.
  19. I'm not giving up. Just changing modes. Time to start dragging up the drift boat for the next couple of months and hitting the rivers. Gonna start in Oswego.
  20. I thought you were talking about an islander. Scratch what I said previously. Take Bob's advice! Run and don't look back.
  21. I would offer scrap value less 20%. Last I checked aluminum was getting .50/lb at junk yard, but that was a while ago and metal prices have fallen.
  22. Thats some good no BS advice right there!
  23. I hear what you saying Firechief. Did the same with my boat this weekend. Time to get ready for steelies after the salmon run is over. Was by the SR first thing in the am. Silly season has begun.
  24. Interesting , But you need to be an electronics wizard to fiqure all that out.
