  1. *Is there a local guy who is real good at troubleshooting and fixing Auto pilots? My King 2000 keeps blowing a 6amp fuse. It came with the boat not working and I have no clue regarding these . I live in Hilton, NY
  2. Power belts are not good long range bullets. The bullet is .001 undersize and the gas cap is I believe .001 oversized. Bulley down loose comes out loose. Tried them and accurracy over 100 yrds went south. Hornaday SST in 300gr are real nice. Longer the bullet, better the stability. I shoot a T/C omega with 130 grn triple seven pelets and 300 sst. Out to 200 yrds, deadly accurate. 2in high at 100, aim 2in high at 150, 5 in high at 200. All 3 shots were on top of bullseye. No adj from last year. I was amazed too say the least.
  3. I've used the launch dozens of times over the last 25 yrs and never had an issue. I've never seen it less than 3.5 feet deep. If you ding your prop it's probably because you wandered out of the markers. The channnel is marked with green and red bouys.I have a 18.5 I/o and just bring the prop up slightly just incase. An outboard is a non-issue. I've seen 24ft Weekenders using the launch in the middle of summer. 5 dollar fee now also.
  4. A SUPER SPORTSMAN lic. also qualifies for free tags, I believe.
  5. Since we are on the subject, I have a starcraft islander 191 that steers like a drunk sailor in pretty much all waves over 1 ft. Wind need not be present either. Any other starcraft islander owners have this same issue? Is it just the lightness and hull design? ie. nature of the beast? She just walks right to left constantly.
  6. Hey lively1, I'm 1/4 mile south of the Olney place. Welcome to the neighborhood.
  7. troll around the weeds, 8-15 feet. Water temp is about the same everywhere. Bait- anything big ,noisey and flashy. Don't really need riggers, just be about 5ft - 10ft down. Big bait will find that depth anyways. Speed to get best action on lures, spinners, whatever. Run a couple close to boat ~15-20ft right behind. Off the sides about 50 ft back. Muskies don't spook to easily. They like commotion
  8. need the sun behind you for clear, bright pictures
  9. okuma's are having issues lately. Mine the counter was sticking, brand new, never got near zero when winding back in. Took back to B&E and he said 3rd one back with 3 different problems. Bought diawa 47lc, no problems and always back to zero within 2 ft.
  10. Mouth of the Genesee was hot last Sat early am. Low and slow.
  11. I have a 19v starcraft islander, NOBODY can keep that thing going straight in choppy water at trolling speeds!!! I drag bags and that doesn't make it easier either.
  12. it is the beginning of that time already time further north.
  13. I have a 1985 searay 18' open bow for sale. Floor boards need some work ,interior is OK. The 3.0-140 hp-4cyl merc motor and drive work fine only have around 800 hrs.Full mooring cover, sun top, transom kicker mount. I am using it now for LOC derby. Has a loadrite trailor also with newer tires. Can run in driveway, or launch for VERY SERIUOS BUYER!!. Location-Hilton Ny Call Steve 585-392-7896 eves. Revision. stringers are soft. Anybody need a 3.0 merc and outdrive? Good runners. $600. Trailer- $300 I will pay for hull disposal.
  14. Plain and simple, the maintenance cost on the wind mills is much more than the energy savings they produce. look at any wind farm, usually more than half aren't turning. Why? they dont work or need maintenance.
  15. If you don't choose rimfire, get one anyways. In NY you can not use a centerfire rifle for varmints during ANY open deer season. So from Oct 1- dec 19 or so, you have to use a rimfire or shot gun only. A 17 HMR will drop a yote with a well placed shot. Under 50 yrds a heart lung shot will down him, but he will run and blood may be hard to spot. I go for the neck or head always with the 17. With right scope, very accurate out to 150 and even 200. 3 in drift at 100 with 10mph cross breeze. Also keep barrel clean, fouling will affect accuracy, and fouling starts quickly with a rimfire. 20grn hollow point the best. remember fox when skinned are as skinny as a small cat, shoot slightly higher then center body. I agree that for fox, 17, 22 mag or shotgun. They usually come right in for close shots and anything bigger will make a large hole. Never tried a FMJ with larger cal, but if you hit shoulder or back bone I think it will make somewhat of a mess out of the fur.
  16. cold water is in close. So are the fish. 60-140
  17. Me Too!!
  18. Who,what where why when!!! maybe some pictures of these devices to see what they are and the color combos.
  19. I clamp my hose before the pump when storing and starve the carb. In the spring I fire it up and pump the throttle and it always fires right up . Try again for longer. Could have someone with a can of starting fluid hit it every few seconds, that may help get her flowing.
  20. Put a charger on the battery just in case and turn key and pump throttle continuously, should start. Probably have a large bubble somewhere.
  21. Gone.
  22. where do you go for the eyes?
  23. Are the stringers good?
