  11. Matt good luck but it's still early, for some reason the spot I hunted this a.m. Is alway starting earlier than my other areas
  12. Was a good morning lots of activity saw 7 buck and 4 doe. The big 9 pt buck paid a visit yesterday afternoon while I wasn't there of course, came to the scape and walk right towards my stand. A few pictures from the cameras and a video of some action this morning [video:youtube]

  16. Buck fight last night right in front of my stand
  17. Matt mature deer and smaller. Real horns make a big difference! My success jumped dramatically when I began using real horns instead of a bag. It depends on the deer and stage of pre rut as to loud and aggressive or just tickling them together I never start out bashing them together more of a tickling and pushing match if that doesn't work I'll ramp things up. I really use it as a tactic when I see a good buck out of range,I've had them run in so quick I could barely set the horns down. Its really a tricky situation with the bow you have to have the right set up,a bucks ears will pin point almost exactly where the sound is coming from, when his eyes don't reveal a buck fight he will use his nose and circle down wind 9 out of 10 times This deer passed by through thick brush I grunted but was out of grunting range.Grabbed the horns and brought him right in.He stopped and thrashed a tree and I shot him right before he was going to hit my wind as he circled my location
  18. Yep all the time Matt
  19. Nice Rob!
  20. Things seem strangely slow. Yesterday afternoon I saw a doe and fawn at 6:20 pm They are not moving well right now. Camera had been in for over a week and very few pictures and just doe. I looked back at previous years and have killed buck twice on Oct 20th last year and 2010 But there was much more deer activity going on. I'm pulling back for a couple days
  21. That one will cause sleepless nights
  22. I have to Agee with their assessment of the hit
  23. Rob is deeply embedded and undercover. He will soon find out from all the doe where the dominant buck lives and frequents
  24. It's the way I see it but it will only hurt us if we don't fill our doe tags at some point. Next step is early muzzleloader doe only OCT 1st I suggest everyone fill and call in your doe tags I've even heard whispers about guys calling in the doe tags regardless if they are filled or not...I don't agree or disagree with this tactic. To me it's a moot point because I always harvest my share of doe I also firmly believe that the deer population is very healthy and doesn't need this holocaust the DEC is trying to facilitate
  25. Many things can tighten up groups, different powder, amount of powder, seating length ect Start with one thing at a time, don't do more than one change at once . For seating depth I like to kiss the lands but magazine constraints may prohibit you from doing that. If you start at the start (the lands) you only have one direction to go if you need to adjust. 1" is the best I get with the 120gr TTSX,I've better groups with R15 and Varget the 120gr Nosler ballistic tips will give you best groups 9 out of 10 times but how much better than 1" do you need in a hunting rifle?
