Navionics shows twice the detail as Garmin charts on the hd lakes. But because navionics came out with a card compatible with Garmin, Garmin is now changing their software so only Garmin charts can be used Sent from my SCH-I535 using Lake Ontario United mobile app

Navionics has come out with a chip that will work in garmin chartplotters, and I was able to get in on the test run through bayofquintecharters on here. As being part of this test group I received an email tonight from navionics that garmin said they are changing their software so these chips wont be compatible. I was in the market for a bigger chartplotter but now it wont be a garmin because I have also bought their map chip and it doesn't even compare to navionics with their hd lakes. just wanted to give anyone a heads up if you are buying a new unit and plan on getting the navionics for it.

The smart craft gauges you just put the motor in gear and engage the troll mode then you can move the rpms up our down to get the perfect speed without touching the throttle. I have a 225 verado that I troll with, the key is the smartcraft gauges. I can adjust the RPMs to get the perfect speed

there is a free state launch mid lake on the north shore called godfrey point, you can launch there and there is a drop that goes from 15ft to 30 ft right in front that goes all along the north shore, you can also fish the shallows right by the launch or run out to the middle of the lake and fish shakelton shoals. Early season you will want bucktails and heddon sonars for jigging
