I was on Canandaigua. It was like a popcorn popper under my feet.

I was on the ice at 160 feet today. I heard the normal ice cracking sounds, the ice was about a foot thick I walked over near some black ice where someone fished a couple of days earlier and it sounded like glass breaking directly under me . It was a little unnerving. Maybe it was nothing to worry about it made me redistribute my weight.Be safe.

I was using 6 pound mono. It's hard to believe how disrespectful some of boaters are. I had water splashing in over the sides of the baby whaler a couple of times from their wakes. They come right at you then decide at the last moment they need to turn because your going slow trolling.

You may want to check on the mornings that they are open. I know they have not been open every weekday morning.

I would put a new fuel line on it. If it has a mechanical pump it would be on the lower front of the engine starboard side. I would also run only non ethanol fuel.

I think the derby has Started.I saw four boats going out yesterday all with riggers at noon. Do the fish need to be alive? If not,someone has a head start. -

I have a honda 2.3hp. FS and a 3hp. two stroke I only use the honda anymore. It weighs less than the two stroke because its air cooled. When you let off the throttle it stops. It has a centrifugal clutch, no problem trolling for lakers. I can troll all day on a quarter of gallon.

The two part type that is sold in a syringe at the hardware store. I think it cured in five minutes. You will need to scuff up the area to be applied.

I have used epoxy on a grumman canoe that had holes in it.

I never have fished a derby. How can the officials determine were the fish came from? It would be a shame if the derby was held for nothing. Meaning the winning fish came from Lake Ontario.
