I have 6 20's but I only use them for spring .. love them but after this year I had two fish take me out to 750ft +of line( mono)...if I wasn't using a 30 series reel I woulda been spooled ....but I do like how light and the ratio is definitely better than the 30's I suppose there's no reason u couldn't put 200ft of mono on and back them with braid though Sent from my SCH-I545 using Lake Ontario United mobile app

This past season I switched to the okuma 10ft med action cold water rods, awesome action, I would say they definitely increase our landing ratio do to the light action vs the heavy ugly stick we have used the past several years Sent from my SCH-I545 using Lake Ontario United mobile app

The eye is not offset like a octopus hook and has a larger gap between the eye and shank that could cut into your line.... that and even on trebles I just do a clinch or a polamar knot ...hook hangs straight and less of a chance to get the pliers on the knot when removing a hook from deep in a fish mouth like on a snell Sent from my SCH-I545 using Lake Ontario United mobile app

You can see that slick we were working in a couple of the pics... it was only about 50 ft wide but it was close to a mile long ....had to work at checking and cleaning lines from sea weed and debris floating in there but kept us moving Sent from my SCH-I545 using Lake Ontario United mobile app -

Met Dave and his gf Sheila at the launch around 530 am Monday in hopes of one more loc fish , even though we could not get a loc worthy fish to bite it was still a fun day. Set up in 30 fow and trolled nw finding a good screen in 80fow, started working that water with nice hooks suspended 5-15 foot off bottom with out moving a rod for a good hour or so decide to start switching out to a brown program and work in a bit ...no sooner then we start pulling first rod the deep rigger parked 5ft-10ft of bottom with a black and chrome spin doctor and one of my black ice flies takes a good release and Sheila is on the rod and lands a 25lb king, continue to work the marks in 80 fow for another hour or so and decide to switch out to a brown program, picked up another king and a small laker on the way into 50-60 fow where we found a nice slick that was holding fish and had a steady pic up of browns , steelhead and even 2 Atlantics!! The rest of the day. The 35 ft rigger with an albino frog , 200 copper with "Dave's only" spoon and a lj diver out 110 with a stinger mongoose took the majority of the fish..one of the Atlantics took a uv ghost meat rig off the other diver out 100 Ended with a lake o grand slam 2kings , 2 atlantics, 1 laker, 1 steel and somewhere around 8 for 10 on browns! Half of me wanted to keep pounding the king Marks for the chance at one more but the other half just wanted to move rods and have a good day ....I'm glad we chose to move the rods instead! I would agree with Paul too and another thing that may be another possibility is release tension ? And I personally like the vmc 9650 and if you want a stronger hook the 9655 and the price is nice. And yes sk8man the Mustad hooks are deadly ...I have been playing around with them this year and very impressed not just on spoons Sent from my SCH-I545 using Lake Ontario United mobile app
