. Found a nice pile of fleas down deep off Wilson in 350'. Hooked 2 screamers in first hour-90' on rigger. Rod eye jammed up During both fights- lost both when they ran at us while eye was jammed. My bad was still running 20#. Quit after a hour- spooling on 30# now Sent from my iPhone using Lake Ontario United

7/23- Pretty good chop-headed out to the fence and set up by 7:30. Incredible bite- took a two man limit by 11:30. Down rigger bite on bottom with meat- blue/black and watermelon took most. 4 and 5 color took rest. 1.7 at the ball- 7/24- ran to same place as yesterday- got set up by 7:00- took 3 in the first hour- 5 color and riggers- meat- purple black and nuclear green. caught a 16" we released and lost one at the net the rest of the day- played with speed all day-pulled rods at 1:30. Just couldn't get anything going Sent from my iPhone using Lake Ontario United

Olcott report for 7/17
battlehammer replied to cprost's topic in New York Fishing Reports - Lake Ontario (South Shore)
Any fleas out there yet? I'm off a few days this week and will be trolling Wilson/Olcott. Wondering if I need to get the 30# spliced in or not. Been picking on the Walleye most of June- Can't wait to hear a screaming drag again. Thanks for the report Sent from my iPhone using Lake Ontario United -
Wilson 7/5
battlehammer replied to KilliansRed's topic in New York Fishing Reports - Lake Ontario (South Shore)
I fished 440-470' of water off Wilson same day. We did 3 average steelhead a 2 1/2yr old king and a laker- sliders and braid dipsey 3 set- 130 did most. Forgot new battery for sub troll -no speed or down temp today- won't do that again!! Sent from my iPhone using Lake Ontario United -
Not the crazy numbers or size we have seen in past years for the Southtowns, for us anyway, but we did pretty decent filling the freezer. Friend got into some better size fish on Sunday in 60-70' . Purple Bayrats- pink Renosky. Very few fish on meat. Good luck- Sent from my iPhone using Lake Ontario United

Same program- doesn't get much simpler. We have been running rapala in blue/silver and black/silver. Be warned its a busy highway out there the last few nights- running any kind of board is a disaster waiting to happen- it's TIGHT quarters out there- get out there now before the bite ends. Good luck Sent from my iPhone using Lake Ontario United

Wire dipsey's - 2 set- 125 and 160 back. 2 riggers 75' and 58 ' with sliders- lead length didn't seem to matter much- took a bunch of kings on sliders. All fish on spoons- warrior-black pearl UV , dream weaver - thriller, stinger- frog hard to beat for us. One more day off then back to work- Sent from my iPhone using Lake Ontario United

Ditto on the crushfest! We have boated 180 + fish in 4 1/2 days. We landed 2 lakers on one rod 2 days in a row-they are stacked like cord wood. Plenty of kings around Wilson but have not caught one over 20#. The amount of lamprey marks on the kings and lakers is staggering. Cdq - I think we both caught the same laker- couple other pics too- good luck to all for the rest of the tournament Sent from my iPhone using Lake Ontario United

Wire Diver Set-Up
battlehammer replied to overthelimit's topic in Questions About Trout & Salmon Trolling?
Hardest part about the wire diver set up is getting your drag correct- I started with wire last year and it took me a bit to get it right- I used a rubber band later in the year hooked to the wire and the handle and loosed up my drags and my hookups were perfect- I donated many lures to the fish gods learning- Sent from my iPhone using Lake Ontario United
