  1. He was my next option. He's worked on our boat before. He's a great guy. He's even pm'd me about my dad a couple times. That says a lot about a guy. Thanks Les, probably should just contact him.
  2. I went on a Shakedown today, before our first tourny. Put the boat in, no reverse, no drive. pulled the boat, found a crack in the outdrive where the prop is. Also the shaft was very loose and so was the nut. I had water come out of the lower unit when I went to change the lube. I imagine it had water that froze and caused all the damage. I have a 1984 Chris Craft. 5.0 liter engine, I/O serial number tag was plastic and broke off, but the numbers on the side of the lower unit are 6712640, and 1 50R. That's all I know about it. Any help would be greatly appreciated. Jason
  3. Thanks Jacob! Looking forward to talking with you.
  4. No, I was there yesterday and it's still frozen.
  5. Hook set becomes a problem with rubber bands. Now to mention weeds. Roemers are as good as it gets for stacking release. In my opinion.
  6. It's posts like this that are always a joy to see and read. I think all of us Dads get especially connected to seeing a Dad fish with his children and the joy they have in their expressions. Especially daughters! Excellent job! Quite obvious she is her Daddy's girl.
  7. Open again this week for the most. I have 4-6hrs of work monday, but back at it on tue-fri. Saturday we prefish Seneca. tourny on Sun. Good luck and be safe to all. We cant wait for this year to begin...
  8. Good report!
  9. Thank's for the compliment's Les, I hope this snow is the last one for the season. I'm ready to be on the water for the year. Winter has wore out it's welcome here!
  10. Love it! Man that is a beautiful boat! Thanks for all your help Capt. Steve Drave! Looking forward to this year and all of it's opportunities! Can't wait to see that boat! My head is spinning.
  11. Thanks Brent! It was nice getting a moment to talk with you, as opposed to the madhouse at the Watkins show. Your welcome to stop by anytime, since you live quite close. Just remember, If you spend more than an hr at the shop, I put you to work? Not that you did, but I had a good friend stop by today and spent hrs talking about the "old days". I should have put him to work...
  12. I fish with Roemer stackers. I adjust them by setting them and tripping them, till I feel I have them tight enough. If they are a problem releasing, I just loosen a little. Check for "shakers" occasionally if you like them tight.
  13. That would be something to see! Just seeing eagles now is an awesome sight.
  14. We Googled Rudd and it appears that is a good bet. 38.5 cm was the largest recorded from Ontario.
  15. Golden shiners lack scales between the ventrical and anal fins and very seldom grow past 10 inches. Got the McClains fishing encyclopedia out. American shad has 5 dots, large to small on its side and a deeply forked tail.
  16. Certainly does look like a golden shiner.
  17. No website as of yet. We are working on it though. Probably the best way to get lures would be to visit the shop and see what we have to offer. Just let me know if your coming so I can make sure to be there.
  18. I have been asked quite a lot about when I will be at the shop next. I will be at the shop this weekend fri - sat from noon till 6 pm, later if needed. My # is 607-426-5094- Thank you Jason
  19. Thanks Joe! I will give him your regards. I hope he gets out a little more this year. I really believe the more I can tell him that people ask about him, the more he tries to get out. He was serious about his fishing! Good luck to you and everyone else this year! Can't wait for this to begin! Be safe and good luck!
  20. After going over the info we collected at the Watkins Flea Market it turns out the hottest color for that event wasn't a color at all, it was plain. For the most part it sold 3-1, but against some our hottest selling colors 2-1 for most. Copper Back KW ratt-o-lures were a very close second. We sold out of them in the first hr and took some orders, but I bet if we had twice as many as we took, we would have probably sold them out, and that would make the CBKWR the hottest seller. I never expected plain to sell so well. I guess it may have something to do with the lack of Suttons on the market. Plain 44's were sold out pretty quick. Could have taken twice as many of them as well. Since we sold quite a few lures at the Watkins venue, I am extending the show sale for another 2 weeks. Half price on all Oakie Doakies, Half price on all Ratt-o-Lures, and 25% off all others. PM me any questions or order's. 21. Fingerlakes Trollers Association has an outstanding Flea Market. Putting a very large crowd of people in the door for one day, year after year. Congratulations to all the members who contribute their time to make that show such a huge success. I talked with Fishy this morning and heard he had a reel stolen. That's a shame for that to happen and like someone previously posted, whoever stole it, will have to pay for it in one way or another. Hard enough to pay for the tables, the help, other expenses like fuel, and money to have an inventory. Then you go to a show sell a few hundred in tackle, (which is probably less than $100 in profit) then to have someone steal a reel! That just ruined a small profit for the day and thats just a real shame. I was glad to see the LOU members I could recognize, and or introduced too. (too many to mention them all) I apologize for not having the time to spend with most of you. We were SO busy, we lost our minds for 2-3 hrs! Even when I had a moment to think, I couldn't think. Theresa and I kept saying "What the hell just happened" I was so glad I spent the time to teach Theresa all the sizes and colors as well as my "code" for inventory. She never flinched once and was dealing with 2-3 people at a time. We had over 40 sales in the first hr, Had to buy $50 worth of ones, twice, and still bought all Musky Joes ones as well. I had $40. worth of change and came back with a nickel and 3 pennies. That was the best 5hrs of selling lures I have ever seen, and I did shows all around the Great Lakes from 1987 - 2004. We sold out of about 1/3 of our inventory and some lures were sold out in less than an hr. I must have heard at least 30 times, "I'm so glad to see you making these spoons again"! You can bet were gonna be back to that one. Fingerlaker Trollers Association has done an incredible job with the growth and the promotion of that show. Great job! On another note, thanks to all of you who asked about my Dad. Things were going well up to the last week. We had him making lures and packaging. He started to get a little wore out after a couple full days and then he got really sick and was in the hospital for a few days. He was hoping to be able to make it, and I wish he had, but he's been getting better and getting his health back, so maybe he will be around more with me this year. He's the biggest reason were re starting this business. He loved making fishing lures and I'd love to see him doing it again. So, Thank you all for your support! It was very overwhelming! Jason
  22. Wish we could like a statement.
  23. I don't believe fish are considering odd number over even either. That would make it a thought, and not a mind trick (tricking your mind into accepting it as more natural "feeling") . Personally, Iv'e never really considered it, but our lures do have and odd number of dots. I didn't do it on purpose, it just happened that way.
  24. Cabin Fever for sure. My girlfriend, has a master's in Art. She told me that placing an odd number of objects makes it more natural. Nature never lines things up in even distribution, but your mind wants to divide things in half. So by using an odd number of objects, such as dots, It's Appearance is seen as more natural. If you look at any famous flower arrangement painting, you would never find one with an even number of flowers. They don't exist. Not by any "Master" artist, or famous.
  25. Nautitroller just fished the south end today and reported the fish were deep. As far as the south end goes, west side in front of the break wall and the cottages short of the "Tiki" bar would be good now. Follow bottom contour in early season. Stay in less than 100' more like 60 ft' Hard to do sometimes because of the bottom. Severne though, would be your best choice right now. The Flea Market is only Sunday from 9-2.
