Thanks guys for the posts, I'm going to keep doing research. Might even call Joel at ITroll to chat about installs and features. I can say this that ITroll is the way I'm leaning at this point. Mainly because of the hunt feature. I'm still a novice on Lake O and can use all the advantage I can get. My home lake I'm dialed to the 9's. Thanks again

Jason, It is the four stroke motor, I checked out the control king module, also looked at reviews and they were about 65% like but a ton of miss haps I planned on running new cables, electric wires as well as remote start cables. I'm sick of reaching over the transom to adjust speed and starting. Not to mention dad is retiring in April so the boat is going to used almost daily until we bring it to lake o in June.

Good evening Guys and Gals, I just picked up a new 15 hp Prokicker and looking for the best speed control for it. I've checked out the YouTube videos on both applications but looking for some real world advise. Any and all input is welcome Thanks again Steve KJ Louise

Finally ended our week in NY, here's the break down from start to finish Saturday evening, fished high rocks area before I actually knew they were called that... We had 1 hit on green spiny with atomik glow fly. Sunday morning, back to the same area. Went 1-1 on wire out 325 on #3 setting on 8" pro troll with Poseidon dirty leprechaun fly Sunday afternoon headed out to the north dune area and fished 120' water column...didn't move a rod Monday morning followed a couple charters out of the little salmon river toward the plant. Set up in deeper water of 150. Went 1-2 of ff and spiny and fly combo. Both were off rigger parked at 87' Monday afternoon fished for a couple hours near salmon river in 90' of water didn't see much there either Tuesday morning headed out in solid 3' waves that quickly built to 5's by noon time. Landed 1 fish on white on white spiny Took Tuesday evening off, crew wasn't feeling very well after getting out asses handed to us. Wednesday morning met up with rich at Mexico launch area and chatted weather or not if we were going out. Decided you can't catch fish sitting in the couch so we headed out. Started at the red building at the plant and worked toward Oswego when the 325 Dipsy peeled off 200' before I could touch the rod. Handed it over to dad. Landed a 25.5lbs King on 8" pro troll (white with green dots) and green fly. 20th spot on the loc board for 3 hours. We also landed 2 more fish in the same area average weight was 18lbs. Thursday---oh hell NO. Bouy was saying 5' so we decided to clean camp and the boats then take the kids to the hatchery for show and tell. Friday morning lake was laying down so we headed back out. Started back at the plant and found ourselves leaving the combat zone in search of cooler water. Found it in the 350' area but also no fish. Trolled back toward camp and picked up 2 more in 130' fow area by the plant. Saturday morning back at the plant playing with the zoo! Went 3-3 until someone was nice enough to clean the back of the boat off. Lost 300 copper 400 copper and Dipsy. I know it happens but auto pilot is to be used when you have a clear open area free from others. Anyways-- Saturday afternoon decided i would try and run with the big dogs out deep. Joined there circle of fish off west side of the plant and steadily started to pick off fish 1 at a time. Ended up with 3 more all were smaller fish on 500 copper ( last one btw) dragging a uv spoon. Sunday packed camp and headed back to NH, 7.5 hours on the road just make back in time for my kids hockey practice. Parked the truck and boat in the parking lot so we could both run in to get changed before we hit the ice. (Wifey brought the gear to the rink for us) Great week all in all, Lake O is a fantastic fishery and can't wait to get better at finding the fish. Thank you to everyone who made our trip enjoyable. Went out this morning in 4' rollers out of Little Salmon, headed toward the high rocks like the rest of the week. Started the troll in 90' FOW toward the plant fish 1 was 18lbs off rigger at 77' with green spot 8" echip and white atomik fly. Fish 2 was 25.5 king caught on same flasher but with green glow fly on dipsy 325' out. So 2 for 2 then the crew started to turn green. Ended the day at 12:30. Our fish is on the leaderboard in last place but who cares! Finally we're starting to move rods. Hopefully the lake lays down a little. Few more days of vacation left. KJ Louise replied to freespirit1's topic in New York Fishing Reports - Lake Ontario (South Shore)
Fished from 4- 7 last night, 100-120 FOW from a tip from Fintins. Had 1 knock off on meat but nothing else. Moved radio to channel 72, 68 is always busy or people have open mics. Back at it today in the same area (front of the Plant) running spoons and glo FF. hoping for the best Steve Sent from my iPhone using Lake Ontario United -

Good lord the wife asked to go fishing
KJ Louise replied to LOSTFROMFLORIDA's topic in Open Lake Discussion
Hmmm...wife on board my boat, nah I'll pass on that. If she sees how much gear is on board it could land me in divorce court. I prefer taking the kids instead, extra rods + smaller packages. Sent from my iPhone using Lake Ontario United -

Updated: Ideas on how to mount a trolling motor
KJ Louise replied to one fish two fish's topic in This Old Boat
The 9.9 Honda would be good for your boat, I'm using the same thing for my 27 Eastern which weights in at 7800#. I can get the boat down to a sow craw for spring salmon in NH which is .8 to 1.1 mph and up to striper speeds of 4mph. Mounting the motor on the swim platform is a very viable option. They make instillation kits through Kellogg Marine. The other option is to have a loca welding shop fabricate a small bracket the would attach to the platform itself. Steering the motor will be the difficult part. An ez-steer bar will work, you just need to flip the kicker bracket so it faces forward. The other option is a remote steering system which is the best way but it will carry a big price tag. Good luck and make sure you post a pic when you have decided your options.
