  1. Nice job Devin!! What did they hit on? Sent from my iPhone using Lake Ontario United
  2. Yep, just a clean spoon. The one that took the lakers was 10ish feet off the ball. Took the king on the one on the bottom... Moonshine lure, Carbon 14. The 2 on the bottom are Magnum size, the other is a regular Michigan Stinger, both sizes will work, choose whatever colors you like (these are 3 of my personal favs), I tend to run mag spoons, but will change it up. Hope this helps! - GBL Puffer II: 1802 Trophy Green Boat: 1966 Starcraft Mariner-V 14
  3. I run 13 lbs torpedoes and was actually surprised there wasn't more blowback, but we were going with the waves and doing 1.8-2.1 on the surface and 2.4-2.8 at the probe. Probably why there was not so much blowback. And as I get used to my hawk, I'll do some tests for calibration. Will definitely check just below the surface for temp with the probe. Not sure if I'm ready to let my probe to the bottom yet! Lol! Sent from my iPhone using Lake Ontario United
  4. 105 (give or take) was the depth reading on the fishhawk for the probe. Maybe it needs to be calibrated? Sent from my iPhone using Lake Ontario United
  5. We were reading 42 on my rigger out 115 on the cable. With blow back it was around 105 give or take. Had gear from there and up to 80. Fishhawk x4d is new to my boat, first use yesterday. Sent from my iPhone using Lake Ontario United
  6. Found good temps down 100 over 150 near the finger. 2 lakers on a spoon and a king on the 450 copper. Sent from my iPhone using Lake Ontario United
  7. Fished this morning from 6:30-10:00. Good temps down around 100 ft over 150 near the finger. 2 lakers took a spoon down 115 on the rigger. Picked up a king on a 450 copper with a spoon. Sent from my iPhone using Lake Ontario United
  8. Here's a pic of a noaa map. General areas you may have heard of... We were out past the finger. Over 150 fow, manage 2 lakers off spoon down 115 on rigger counter, lost one trying to steer it away from the kicker and 1 king on a 450 copper with a spoon. - GBL Puffer II: 1802 Trophy Green Boat: 1966 Starcraft Mariner-V 14
  9. You had the Penn Yan this morning? Same riggers as me? Good to see you found this site! There's truly a wealth of info here and great, experienced people that'll share. Ask questions and read discussions. Sent from my iPhone using Lake Ontario United
  10. Yeah, here til Saturday. Let me know when you're around. Wind is suppose to come down tonight, so hopefully it'll be ok in the morning. Headed out of Stony and see what it looks like. If it's still nasty out there, I'll pack it in, pic up my bait and try to get some perch. Really want to be out deep though. Sent from my iPhone using Lake Ontario United
  11. Any recent reports? Anybody out last weekend or earlier this? Planning to head out in the a.m. Sent from my iPhone using Lake Ontario United
  12. I was out at the finger last week for only a couple hours, lost 1 on the 450, another slammed a dipsy and broke off taking everything. More expensive than successful trip. Schools of bait on the graph and some hooks around. I'm most likely heading out of Stony Creek tomorrow, weather pending. Will report. Sent from my iPhone using Lake Ontario United
  13. Yes, bring it. You'll be upset if you don't. I'm here now, in Clayton at 1000 Islands Harbor Hotel with the lady for a little anniversary trip without the kids. Next year the boat is coming. You'll be able to run up and down the river without a problem. Sent from my iPhone using Lake Ontario United
  14. Ok. Thanks. I'll keep an eye on them when I do my check. Sent from my iPhone using Lake Ontario United
  15. Do you mean the washer with the nubs on it to keep oriented, forward or aft or perpendicular to the boat? Sent from my iPhone using Lake Ontario United
  16. Thanks minion. Mine are bolted through the metal gunwhale and I give them a hard wiggle at the launch (or night before) every couple trips. I hear you though. Good advice. - GBL Puffer II: 1802 Trophy Green Boat: 1966 Starcraft Mariner-V 14
  17. There's an inner pond inside of Stony Island... my brother and I have talked about overnighting there. Sent from my iPhone using Lake Ontario United

  19. This is to the wall in shipping lanes. I come the other way, and that's as far as i'd go, so I don't know if there are locations closer. - GBL Puffer II: 1802 Trophy Green Boat: 1966 Starcraft Mariner-V 14
  20. I grew up in Dewitt, near LeMoyne college. On the east side (suburbs). We were close to I 690, which made getting anywhere relatively quick and easy. I went to the Jamesville-DeWitt school district, which was and still is a very good school district. If you want a little more space, check out Jamesville. Same district, more outdoorsy. I spent a lot of time at my uncle's and friends out there hunting and fishing. I miss it. Sent from my iPhone using Lake Ontario United
  21. This is the only piece that needs to be permanently mounted for tite lok holders This is more for anyone else following the thread, than me trying to convince you or your dad! [emoji23] - GBL Puffer II: 1802 Trophy Green Boat: 1966 Starcraft Mariner-V 14
  22. Haha. Ok. Totally understandable!!! Sent from my iPhone using Lake Ontario United
  23. I know you're talking about a chute rod, but I got tite lok holders for the gunwhales. They're on the inexpensive side for metal holders and can be removed, only leaving the small plate. (You can see the little black mounting plate. I'll remove the holder when I get a chance and post another pic.) It might be worth spending $80 and having 1 on each side to get your spread balanced and further out. Just my opinion. - GBL Puffer II: 1802 Trophy Green Boat: 1966 Starcraft Mariner-V 14
