  1. Hahaha! Love the point. And can I get me a socket lure?! Should it be on tighten or loosen?! I guess that has to do with timing! Lol. Sorry... couldn't help myself! [emoji23] Sent from my iPhone using Lake Ontario United
  2. I'm with shinintimes... just want a good game to watch. Also, hope a quarter hits my numbers for my work boxes!!! Sent from my iPhone using Lake Ontario United
  3. I just want to clear up the penetration of visible light in water... Pap, your numbers are way off. Maybe if you were talking in meters, but they'd still be off. The longer wavelengths, red, orange, and yellow are absorbed quickly near the surface, in the first 10-15 meters. The shorter wavelengths, green, blue, and violet travel farther with blue going the furthest about 150 meters. If light stopped penetrating at 40 ft, why the hell would we use any colors at all below 40ft when we all fish well below that and talk of our hot colors and such??? The numbers here will ultimately vary depending on water clarity, more stuff = less penetration. I like the topic and am interested what everyone thinks. I'm still newish to deep trolling and threads like this really interest me. Sent from my iPhone using Lake Ontario United
  4. I read a little about renaming a boat when I was doing mine... the long and short of it is, if you rename it you need to christen it upon slashdown, referring to the old name and introducing the new name to the Lake (or body of water), with the first drink spilled on the bow allowing it to run off in the water, and the rest to go around for captain and crew. This will appease the gods, so they won't strike you with bad luck. Sent from my iPhone using Lake Ontario United

  7. I don't use snubbers either. And when setting up a wire diver rod, make your flouro leader no longer than your rod. When the dipsy (if you're using them) gets to the rod tip, tip up and have rod man back up to net the fish. And to add to the copper... Gambler suggested multiple rods because to do want to deploy all of the copper on a given rod. I'm pretty new to copper as well (going from advice from knowledgeable guys). I run a 450 down the chute. Sent from my iPhone using Lake Ontario United

  9. Great numbers. Looks like you got a good program! I'm down in the new paltz area, and trying to get into stripers. If you ever have an open seat, I'd be interested to get out and learn. Sent from my iPhone using Lake Ontario United

  11. We were out from 9-12... Screen look the same as the ones posted from Friday. Nothing wanted to play. Trolled with the waves from the lighthouse (135 fow) into 110, screen was hot almost the entire time. Did that twice before we called it. Now in Pulaski throwing some flys. More people than we expected, just saw one guy set a hook, but it came off. All the action in the hour we've been here. Sent from my iPhone using Lake Ontario United

  20. CK3080... Went out yesterday morning 6:15-9:30 near the finger. Dipsy out 160 went while setting other rods, sad to say the leader broke, copper went shortly after that and came unglued [emoji31]. Picked up a small King on SWR down 85 right before we went in. Temps were good, screen showed some fish.
  21. I think I'll only get out Sunday, but may get a ticket and try to bring something in too.
  22. Great job guys! You said you could put it together fast and so you did! So awesome for the area!!!
  23. Thanks Todd. I really like the riggers. They're smooth and sturdy. I figured they could take more weight. I got new 10# fish shaped weights from Bikinibottom over the winter, so I probably won't be upgrading soon, just wanted to know for the future. Thanks again for coming through with the manual!!!
  24. You are looking for FleetTracker on this site. He's been running a 26' trophy outta there this year. Send him a PM. I'm leaving today and will be up the next 2 weeks. I have a cottage close and may launch there, but run an 18' trophy so I'll do my best to let you know.
