  1. Got another for ya... Are these for dragging on a drift? Seems like they'll drag upright along with minimal snags because of the cylinder shape.
  2. Awesome guys, thanks! There's about a dozen... So I'll be throwing them in April and the fall I guess!
  3. Split shot in braided nylon. I cut one open to make sure. I picked up an old tackle box and found these in a bag. Each weighs 1oz. A couple had line tied to one end. Any application besides a normal sinker? I'm thinking so it doesn't snag.
  4. Anybody use these for salmon? If so, when (late, early, anytime)? Did a tiny bit of research and mainly striper fishing came up, which is alright because I'm close to the hudson in spring. Just wondering if I can through em on a rigger or other application.
  5. Welcome to LOU. You can post "wanted" in the classified section of LOU. Just a heads up. If you haven't scrolled through that section yet, give it a shot. Lots of stuff for sale, including boats.
  6. Pm sent
  7. I hope this headache ends soon for you Devin, but I'm going to mention something no one else has... GOOD LUCK IN THE PRO AM!!! Get the boat when you can, enjoy the ice fishin!
  8. I still have stickers!
  9. I have a cottage on Henderson bay (on Sackets Harbor side). Pap gave some great insight on launches within close proximity that will allow you to play the wind. There's another small place called Bedford Creek Marina and Campground. It's between Sackets and Henderson. Don't know what your sleeping arrangements are, but they have sites to rent and you can get a slip by the day or week. The slip would lock you down there though. Leave it on the trailer and if the lake cooperates, back it down the launch minutes from your campsite! I usually get a slip there for multiple different weeks throughout summer.
  10. Welcome to LOU! Tons of info here... And great folks to answer all types of questions!
  11. So I assume I can run the 300 for a while, than take the leader off and haywire the extra on, put on a leader and roll with it. After trolling deep water, I could then take it apart again... How well does a haywire untwist? Can it be used again or should the few inches be cut off for a new haywire?
  12. I think I'd like to be able to use the 300 early and adjust to 500 later... Not sure if I want to cut the extra 200 I have in half to make a 400 or maybe 450. I have time to think, I guess.
  13. The reel is a penn 345. Thanks so much guys! I'm fishing the trench, wall, and beyond.
  14. Thanks for all the advice and tips guys. Les, your insight is great! Devin, I have an extra 200 that came with the reel of 300. So if I can attach the 2, boom I got a 500. What do you think?
  15. Awesome. PM coming when I get a minute away from the kids/bedtime! Lol!
  16. Are they frozen as well from the butcher?
  17. I picked up a 300 copper and am planning to run it off an inline board. (My current program is 2 riggers and 1 dipsy off each side.) I currently have offshore inlines and through some research, heard they don't pull to the side well when towing long copper. I read church inlines will pull better. Anyone have experience using offshore, or should I buy a church tx-44 for my copper application? Secondly, I want to continue to run a dipsy on the same side. I have the magnum size on wire. Any suggestions on what setting I should use on the dipsy and how far I should get the copper away from the boat. Last thing I want to do is tangle wire and copper! Lastly, what is your go to set up on the business end of your copper set up? Any advice and experience is greatly appreciated! Thanks.
  18. Hello Yves, I'm about an hour south of you in New Paltz (right down 87). I spend half the summer outside of Sackets Harbor on the lake. Brought my smaller boat down to try my hand at stripers when I'm not up there for browns and walleye this spring. Great to have you on the site.
  19. Yes, sure are!
  20. Get your stickers and display them with pride!
  21. Welcome to LOU! I'm a south shore guy from the eastern end. At least around me, they'll sell you gas anywhere. Also, what part of the North shore? Might help anyone that's close give you info. Good luck with your purchase and getting out there!
  22. Welcome! I've spent every summer of my life just outside Sackets. Got into walleye a few years ago and have been trying to go after salmon and lakers for the last 2 summers. A lot of info here from the LOU faithful. Ask and ask away! I have wire on my dipsy rods and use 30# test for main line on rigger rods. I get some fleas, but they get worse in mid summer. May and Early June don't feel to be a problem for me. I just got some short leadcore for early browns (late april) and opening of walleye (1st saturday in May). Only ran them twice last year. Just picked up a 300 copper for this coming season. Anyway, there's my 2 cents on some short seasons and little experience! Tight Lines.
  23. Bill55, I sent you a PM.
  24. Edited my original post and added Canadian pricing available for the North shore folks. Postage is more expensive so the #s are higher. Doing my best to get these out as cheap as possible! There's a foreign currency exchange close by, so I think I can work in Canadian $ for you, will post with more info later. Let me know if you're interested.
