  1. I’m not an expert (in my 4th season). I was told by my guru to start with 2 riggers and 2 dipsies. Get comfortable with that... deploying, redeploying after a fish and so on. Try to minimize tangles and I’ve had a few!!! Add as you get more comfortable with the spread, on your boat, when you’re in charge. Add a copper down the chute. Take it slow. It’ll come. The above post is a real good one! Good fishin, GBL. Sent from my iPhone using Lake Ontario United
  2. Let's try this... And it worked!!! One of my students had a drone and got a bunch of fly over footage, and we had a gopro for the underwater releases. This is just a little of what we got. I have a photo-media student that is going to do a full year project on TIC next year. Let's hope my results are close to what happened this year!!!
  3. Ok, good to hear. Thanks for the update. And, we got tech’d last year, same spot. Sent from my iPhone using Lake Ontario United
  4. Is that huge log still there? It was near a buoy once you came out of the channel and hit the flats. I haven’t been there in a couple weeks. - GBL Puffer II: 1802 Trophy Green Boat: 1966 Starcraft Mariner-V 14
  5. I just realized that I never posted my results of Trout in the Classroom. As I mentioned before, we started with about 150 eggs. I took around 35 students and 4 teachers to the Fishkill Creek in mid-April and released 108 Fingerlings!!! I was shocked by our numbers, I didn't think we'd get that many to survive. I'm excited to try this again! Tried to load a video... didn't work. Will give it a go tomorrow. TIC underwater release.mp4 TIC underwater release.mp4

  7. You could use a figure eight knot or double figure eight. Or you could double over the line and tie an overhand. Whatever will make a fat knot will do. And like Gambler said, you shouldn’t get to the bottom of the spool. Sent from my iPhone using Lake Ontario United

  17. My buddy has gotten all crazy to catch pike on a fly... He going to head up to my cottage for a visit. I was wondering where a good starting point would be for pike in the Black River Bay, Chaumont, Henderson area. What kind of water to look for? Any tips are greatly appreciated.
  18. I have 3 long sleeve button down shirts for sale. 2 are Columbia, 1 Baleaf, all nylon for feeling cooler in the summer. Barely used, no stains. Size Medium, but they are big. They fit more like a Large. I'm 5'8" and 185 pounds with an athletic build and they are roomy. These are $40 shirts brand new. Asking $60 for all 3, shipped to your door. I got bit by a tick in June last year and spent the summer on doxycycline which causes sensitivity to the sun. I no longer need these shirts and only wore them a handful of times.
  19. I use a loop as well. Easy to change to other flies. Sent from my iPhone using Lake Ontario United

  21. Here’s a general idea of the area, so when you here people talking, you’ll know... If you look closer on Navionics, you’ll see the contours of the areas. - GBL Puffer II: 1802 Trophy Green Boat: 1966 Starcraft Mariner-V 14

  23. We went out of Stony Creek (near Henderson) Memorial Sunday. Started south towards drown island looking for Browns. Nothing. Heard buddies on the radio out near the finger picking up fish, headed that way... slowed in around 90 fow, found 44 degrees down about 50. Started setting and a rigger popped. First King of the season (small, teenager, released). My brother set the rigger again. While continuing setting the spread, same rigger goes again. Broke off, drag to tight, think it was another king. We were fishing 10# leaders. My buddies in 2 other boats picked up Browns and kings, and maybe a steelie.
