Thanks for the reply. I imagine the plume from the Niagara is holding the fish in the area. Lakers sure can be trip savers! Any reports of salmon?

Its north, for sure. Now you're getting me excited. Never fished for landlocks, so not really sure what to do. Any tips?

Didn't know if thus was the right spot to post or not, but here goes. My daughter and son-in-law have a cottage on Lake Champlain, so my wife and I are heading there this summer. I'll be taking my boat,- 171/2 foot Princecraft that's rigged for Lake O salmon. What can I expect fish-wise come July/August. I can troll deep or fish shallow. Any and all advice appreciated.

Don't think its too early. If I lived closer, I'd be out there for sure. Browns off of boards.

With less ice cover on the Great Lakes this past winter, I think we will have a better year trolling this year, meaning Lake O. will have a chance to set up in a more predictable pattern. What does everyone else think?

Any guesses on the weight? We have numerous 50+ inch fish caught every year for St. Clair, but this trophy has girth!

Are all the items still available? Would you sell the Apex vice separately? Sorry.....haven't figured out the PM thing yet.

The people I have concern for are the owners of the small bait and tackle shops that rely heavily on the business the "salmon Runs" bring their way. I'm sure the runs are responsible for generating a significant part of their incomes. Sure won't miss the slobs that "fish" this time of the year, though.

Fished hard for 2 days this week,- exclusively inside, and ended up with nothing to show for it. Very few marks and saw very few fish caught, including from the pier. In contrast, Port Dalhousie on the Canadian side was full of fish, including staging fish (presumably) in the lake as well as spawners crowding the area immediately below the dam. In contrast, it appears very few salmon have entered the 18 mile. What's up? Any comments?

Got on the water late. Went 2 for 2. A shaker and one mature that was a little dark but not bad. Black and green Wati spoon 40 feet back down 10 feet on a rigger. Trolling speed 2.2-2.4 on the GPS. Watis are a spoon my son started painting this year. We've caught salmon here as well as up in Sault Ste. Marie.

Hi Hunter. See "Try Again" below. I'm heading that way mid-week next week. I contacted someone who lives down there and apparently there are good numbers of fish staging off of Port. Sounds promising if you put in the work.
