I can only imagine , we were out there at the beginning of the week , and Monday a.m. counted twenty one boats trolling around , that we could see ....
Definitely west of Rochester , so they are part of a power plant ?
Yes , we had a great time in The Rochester area and Brucehooked up , we won't tell !!
Chris , Found ice water about 50' down in an area about a square mile .
Trolling speed was best for us at 2.2 to 2.3 that day .
The double stacks or maybe they're not , were just west of Rochester ?? First time in the area .
We decided to try a different port this time out , first time to I-bay .The better half and I headed out at 5am to the 150 water where we found ice water, 42 degrees in front of the smoke stacks and trolled northeast , riggers started firing right off , 55& 65 ft. down , moo moo cut bait rig with familiar bite Herring was the winner for sure but wire dipsy out 225 with white /green flasher and Pro- am fly was the other good producer as well . Boxed out with Kings 8- 17 pounds , two Lakers 12 and 15 pounds and some skippys that were sent back all before 9:30 . Bite died down after that and the jet skis started coming out so we headed in , fun morning for us !
Have to give all the LOU members a big thank you for all the freely shared information as it surely takes a lot of the learning curve out of this big lake fishing .
Mike

Thanks for the replies , Yankee , you're too funny !!But good advice !
Had a couple instances last summer where we'd find them on bait and would get one or two in the boat , try the same setup's on the next pass or two and couldn't pull them off the bait . Tried different setup's and left and came back to have no hits even though they were hammering the bait, S.O.L. I guess . So that's why I asked .
So in their face it is !
When you guy's come on Kings actively feeding on baitfish , what usually gives you the best number of hits , trolling your lures above them , through them or below them ??
Also from NH , lakes region no less , but find us dragging the boat out to Ontario more and more every year , can't beat the fishery , the people are great , won't be long before we have another boat docked for the season at this rate , the big lake has us hooked !
New to LOU ,
We're from NH and have been fishing Lake Winnipesaukee and the lakes region for 40 years or so , have also fished out of the Oak and Henderson a few times and looking to head back out in July .
Fishing out of a 19' Lund Sport Angler with a 115 hp Merc with 9.9 Pro kicker , Home port in NH is Squam Lake and will probably be launching out of Henderson Harbor this summer .
Thanks to everybody for all the incredibly helpful information on hunting for Kings , boat rigging etc. , there is some serious knowledge on this site !
If anyone is out to the Lakes Region area of NH and ever needs any help or info , please look me up !
Tight lines ,
Mike
