  1. Sombody got a heck of deal.... heck of a project.... but great canvas to start with. Sent from my iPhone using Lake Ontario United
  2. Interesting others are seeing more empty bellies as well. Last year more fish seemed to packed with gobies. This continues to be an interesting year. I certainly wasnt cut out to be a walleye or a northern.... I can barely go 4 hours without eating! Lol Sent from my iPhone using Lake Ontario United

  6. I cleaned a couple walleye from my trip the other night.....Both fish were healthy looking. They exhibited what appeared to be decent fat reserves. What kind of surprised me is that both fish had completely empty stomachs. I have caught lots of eyes with an empty tank but quite often they are stuffed on a full moon. So to catch two with no stomach contents just made me curious.... Does anyone know how quickly eyes digest/metabolize food? Is there any info on how long they may go between feeding? Is there a reason they feed so selectively with so much forage available?Appreciate any thoughts or insight. Thanks and tight lines. Sent from my iPhone using Lake Ontario United
  7. On a more positive note, full moon of sept was wonderful fishing. Very little boat traffic and eyes were feeding. Weather could not have been more beautiful. Slime on the gunwales, a few laughs, and another memorable evening on the SLR. Sent from my iPhone using Lake Ontario United

  11. With all respect I have to disagree. Slots can be quite effective. They seem to work well in places like Minnesota by way of example. Also, 70% of the walleye I catch on the river are 40fow and less. Most come from 25-35fow and all are eager to rejoin their fellow compatriots when released. 12. Agreed. Drop shot.[emoji1303] Sent from my iPhone using Lake Ontario United
  13. Nice boat!! I fish the SLR mostly and 25 is the magic number. Nothing the river can throw at you a 25 cant handle. It also gives u plenty of room and boat to run to lake O and fish for the day. Many years of safe harbor and tight lines! Sent from my iPhone using Lake Ontario United
  14. Hopefully any change would also include lake Ontario. Many breeding fish are taken on Chaumont Bay, BRB, and other bays during ice fishing season. It would be nice to see more governance over harvested fish at that critical time when the fish stack up for spawning. Some percentage of the these spawning fish hail from the SLR. 15. Drop shot crabs this time of year.... 15-35fow. Worms can be very effective but it can be hard to keep the gobies off. Sent from my iPhone using Lake Ontario United

  20. Yes to a "slot limit"......Some additional measure to protect strong breeding fish is needed. Particularly during ice fishing. [emoji1303][emoji1303] Sent from my iPhone using Lake Ontario United
  21. Is fishing sturgeon legal in Canadian water on SLR? How does one legally fish for sturgeon? Looks awesome! Sent from my iPhone using Lake Ontario United
  22. Glad u made out whaler.... sometimes a little diplomacy and determination goes a long way. Good stuff. Sent from my iPhone using Lake Ontario United

  24. Cut a lot of holes with that model auger. They are light and powerful for size. Good little machine!! It will soon be that time. Cant wait[emoji1303][emoji1303] Sent from my iPhone using Lake Ontario United
  25. Absolutely not.... i kno lots of guys like to fish them on the evening shift but There are plenty of eyes to be caught from 330-800am. As far as mid day fishing is concerned, it most definitely can be done. However, with very clear water the fish are deep. With patience and time Im sure one can get very proficient at picking off midday eyes. Sent from my iPhone using Lake Ontario United
